The things you see when you don't have a camera. Yesterday, in Phoenix, on the way home from work, I spied a weirdly styled 2006 or 07 Corvette. The guy had added 54 style tail lights and tail end and changed the nose to look like a 54 style Vette grille with the plexiglas covered round headlights. It was fairly well-done so it looked like someone with some talent had done it; but the two styles just didn't blend well together. Unique and different, but it just wasn't "cool" looking. It looked like he wanted a 54 Vette, but only could find a new Z06. I just don't understand why someone would spend the money to create this "thing" that's neither old style kustom nor fancy custom sports roadster. Bad idea carried too far. If someone else has seen it and has pictures, let's see them.

That's a Kit that they make and install, there is also one to make it look like a 62. Cost is 30 big ones and you furnish the vette. I think they look stupid also.

I've seen a few of those floating around Metro Detroit. I personally think they look horrible, and everytime I see one I want to take the owners wallet away from him so he can never impulse buy anything again.

If you figure 30 grand for the kit, plus the cost of a new Vette, you could have have a REAL one!

The other kits they sell, like the ones that transform a 90's and early 2000's T-Bird into a "49 Ford", there's a few of those around too. Also, equally as ****ing ugly.

First one of those I saw was on the Square in Fayetteville TX in front of Orsak's Famous Hamburgers Cafe. Isn't it something what folks come up with for Corvetters to play with?

Hideous looking car, the proportions and mix of old and new don't work together at all.

New vettes are sweet looking, why would anybody screw it up. In 2009 I hear they are moving to a mid-engine car. They had planned on doing that back in 83, but never when to production. If I had the money I might have a real 53 and a real 07, but not a half ***ed clone of either.

But I don't have to worry about that cuz I'm poor and have to drive either a 50 year old Olds or my 73 years old Plymouth. Poor ol' me.:D

I guess the Corvetters want a car that rides good, has A/C and all the goodies and is fast as hell without the cl***ic bad ride and regular maintenance of a points ignited engine driven original 'vette especially the 6cyl slowdog ones.
