i have a 350 with no mounting holes in the heads. i bought a speedway low mount bracket. it sits way to low hits the frame in my car. i need brackets for something up top that don't mount to the head or require headers. any tips?
alan grove makes what you need...they have them for drivers side or passenger side mount http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/ speedway has one too for the pass side http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/345...-Bracket.html?itemNo=alternator%20bracket how Speedway's looks installed:
57-68 exhaust manifolds (rams horns) in most cars had provision for mounting a generator or alternator. Alternators were used beginning about 1963, so they changed to holes on the end of the manifold, instead of the side. this is the early style: this is the later style:
i used a late model airpump bracket to mount the alt on the pass eng side it bolts to the 2 holes by the fuel pump cut some spacers to position alt with pulley used a 66? slider adjusting bracket mounted to water pump lower hose was tight but i put that plastic shielding around the hose worked fine for many yrs and a lot cheaper than mr groves stuff john
