Any Updates?

 

Spoke with Chris on Friday.................

Andy has had some ups and downs, both in health and spirit. But the good news is that the Dr.s are still confident that they can remove this tumor and give Andy a renewed life.............there are risks but Chris was saying that Andy is staying positive as he can be and is dreaming of getting home to his model a.

Surgury is still planned for early Tuesday morning and that will be the start of what will prove to be 3 very tough operations. But if i know Andy this will be a bump in the road..........he is one tough kid, and besides he owes an awful lot of us rides in that hot rod of his.

Andy i know you will read this as you do every day..............

Now dont forget our deal, beat this and get you azz back here so we can get back to shooting the **** about kool cars and make our plans for joplin 08.

I'll call Chris on Monday if i dont hear from him tommorrow for an update.

Hey Andy just got back from Dixiefried show and saw some cool ideas for your sedan. I might have to consider going to THE HAMB DRAGS if you're going to be there next year. Long ride from South Carolina, but I think it might be worth it .Later. Good luck next week still praying for you.

Here is the latest update from Chris on Andy.

Hi, I havent had much to say the last couple of days because we are in a
holding stage awaiting tommorrows surgery. Andy has had alot of pain in back
and arms are we have been constantly trying to control it with drugs. His
anxiety level is on bust and hes dealing with it better than I ever would.He
says hes ready for whatever it takes to take away the pain.I have had to
re***ure him that Dr. Sekhar wont screw up and that seems to ease his mind a
little . Alot for a 12 year old to grasp.We met with Dr. Vilela on Friday
,this is the Dr. who is going to do the spine Tumor. It will be 10 days
after Dr.Sekhar does the brain tumor surgery. Dr. Velila is going to attempt
to do the spine surgery and the back fusion the same day. He will enter in
through neck from ear to adams apple as the tumor on his back has to come
out through the front off his spine and then flip him over and do the fusion
with plates and rods in the back. He has to take out the existing fusion and
refuse the entire area from skull to C-7 vertabrae.Both surgerys (brain and
spine are 10 to 12 hours each depending on no complications). Andys talks
about getting better and being healthy again to do the things he wants to do
ex; Hotrodding, camping, scouting,running, school, and the list goes on.Andy
needs everyones prayers tonite focused on him, so if you pray,Pray for Andy
as he needs them most of all right now and the Drs. who have to take on this
tremondous task. I will let you know the outcome sometime tommorrow after
the first surgery. Thanks Chris

Looks like Andys spirits are good and he is anxious to get back to normal life...
