After the Paso and VLV incident, I think its time that we start policing these events. Now, don't misunderstand this. But if you see somebody making a complete *** of himself, maybe its time to say something. Either straighten up or hit the ****ing road. Its really sad that it has come to this, but we just lost two world cl*** events. They will be back, but lets hope that in 10 years were not doing this all over again. I saw Axle at VLV being as nice and as accomadating as he could be to people that had cars that didn't belong there. We'll its time to be an ***hole. If there car doesn't meet the guidlines that YOU set, sorry pal, thanks for coming but the car can't come in. If your drunk and breaking beer bottles all over the parking lot, hit the ****ing road. And by the way, don't bring your *** back here again. Were all adults here. Lets try and like it. Just my opinion and not here to piss anybody off.

I would have to agree. There are a lot of events I don't go to because of the trouble makers.

  4. it's up to the event staff/organizers. if it's not a HAMB event and you go in there trying to police "in teh name of the HAMB" or whatever you're going to cause problems.

I din't mean it that way. I agree that the promoters, etc need to police it. I just said the HAMB police because I posted it here. Sorry for the confusion

  6. Yeah, if you care enough about an event you should get involved any way you can. I'm sure they all need volunteers and whatnot.

I agree, no need to mention the HAMB. We need to make sure we police ourselves (car guys), if someone is causing problems - take care of it.

when you have a party, it's all in who you invite and take money from... i'd say that if good focus was on getting clubs to support the shows, and limiting invites to the right cars-- then maybe things would be for the better.

im into helping friends & family and doing the right thing. im not into playing cop so much though...

Someone breaking beer bottles and causing trouble like that or being obnoxiously drunk are isues for the local police to handle. Joe average needs to call the police and move away from the situation so as not to get hurt or cause more stress to the situation. People are CRAZY nowdays and carry weapons, etc. I certainly don't want to get cut or worse because I stuck my nose in. That's what the POLICE are paid to do.

Maybe I need to clarify, I don't mean the HAMB needs to do anything. I just meant us, as car people attending events. The promoters need to keep better control. How do they do that? Not real sure. I just feel that something needs to be done before it gets worse and more events turn us "not painted" car people away.

The problem is that the police can only handle problems they see! How many are willing to stand up and be a witness. Its this society that wants to turn a blind eye and say I don't want to get involved. IF YOU DON'T CARE. why should you expect the police to care.

There was a street in Hollywood, off of Sunset Blvd. The street was all residential. The police did their job so well, the drug dealers, pimps and *****s moved off the main drag, out of view. The neighborhood got together, used flashlights and video cameras to reclaim their street and it worked.

All it takes is to drop a "dime". When the police show up, a group of you get together and point out the trouble makers. If the troublemakers give the cops any lip, back the cops. If your group is bigger than their group, they will probably get the message.

How is it that the HunnertCarPileup can have 800 cars in attendance along with the amount of people that those 800 cars bring yet not ONE issue of fights, bottle breaking, "gangs" or abnoxious, over the top drunken trouble that some of the "other" events in other parts of the country have??

The Lonestar RoundUp has what 600-700 cars. I've never heard of anything more serious then a few burnouts tickets/arrests. Broken bottels/gangs/fights? no way.

The Jalopy Showdown has about half that many cars but also NO ISSUES. I could go on and on with examples but my point is people have to be responsible for their own actions and deal with the consquences if they screw up.

No matter what you do it's never going to change cause you got a bunch of little ****ing jacket clubs with only one car and it's about 20 of them and they think they are ****ing bad ***, been seeing it at viva and at paso and I don't see any change in it. If you try to tell them something you better be ready to get in a fight and not just with the one you talk to but with all of them cause that's the way they are. I'm saying this cause I live in Los Angeles and I notice more and more of this dumb *** kids-jacket clubs.

I play in a cl***ic rock band, we played at a bar this year during the Moab car show. There were bar fights both Friday and Saturday nights right after our encores.

Relating this to Paso etc., these fights get lumped into the statistics when the town says there were x number of police incidents during the car show. These fights were in a bar, not at the car show, and it was locals causing the problems. The car show and cruise simply brings more locals into town for the action and the car show takes the blame.

The bar had some sort of agreement with some biker regulars and the bikers jumped in and had the fights mostly under control before the police got there. The bikers and the police definately knew the people fighting and knew who to go after. They did a good job of breaking it up.

I think that if someone from out of town had jumped into it, things would have been worse. And telling a drunk idiot that he's being a drunk idiot wont help. So, unless its someone you know, its better to stay out of the way and let the cops handle it.

I'll be on stage protecting my thousands of $$ of equipment from flying bottles and people.

I'm not a big guy, but I'm not afraid to get in a s****. I ended up with blood all over my HAMB shirt throwing a guy off the stage:( .

Does anyone rememeber when Car Shows were about the cars and not the scene. My Dad Started taking me to shows as A toddler. Most of the shows now I would never bring Kids too. When Was it ever cool To get loaded then do burn outs in a parking lot.

Is is really That surprising that the dirt bagging of the Hot Rod scene has caused an end to 2 prolific shows. I was distraught at the last Viva Las Vegas I attended. Trash Everywhere Liquor Bottles, Food Wrappers. Disgusting. The scene has gone to Sh*t.

Here is too hoping that this brings about the re-birth of the Vintage Scene Some of Us recall. I miss it.... I like my men in suits and Put Together Outfits. I like when Women look like ladies. I miss when people smiled cause reguardless there was a shared love of an Era and a time gone by. Here is too Wife Beaters being worn as undershirts and not as a fashion Statement. . So Here is too hoping.

F'n "scensters" thats all that they are! They will never amount to anything, except worthless pieces of trash that they are.

  22. I think what ratrod51 is saying is if someone we know is starting to make an *** of themselves, we as friends should tell them to knock it off. Makes sense to me. I don't think he was saying we should confront people we do not know, leave that to the promoters or the police.

Its amazing to me that the powers to be would end a show because of a fews bad behavior. But it's time for someone to take a stand. If you see a bottle being broken or other rowdy things going on you need to step in and "police" yourself. As one who has put on a few motorcycle events, the more you let them get away with the more they'll try to see what they can get away with.If you think I'm trying to say that you need to beat people up,that's not the case.Usually a little explaining what's expected of them is all that is needed. If it goes past this so be it but don't allow your good time to be ruined by those who don't give a **** about your hobby.Just my $.02 worth.

oh, oh, oh!!! I know I know!!! It's cause VLV ain't a car show. There's a car show there, but it's actually a "lifestyle event", not a car show. Same reason I don't go to Heavy Rebel Weekender in NC (smaller version of VLV, but mor rednecky).

If I wanna see good hair, I'll buy a magazine. If I wanna see cool cars, I go to a proper car show.

Note this is in no way meant to be a negative comment about VLV, it's just the way things go when you add a bunch of bands, a bunch of non car rockasilly folks, and a ****in ****load of drinking.

Its simple ! there is guidlines , if you cant go buy those guidlines ... ****ing beat it ! ......... as soon as you are nice there are those **** heads that take advantage of people like Axel . There is always a ******* who always have to ruin it for everyone out there somewhere , thats a given . So we would not have to police these shows if some of these people would just fricken grow up because these shows ............ are for all of US ! and if we didnt have people like Axel or clubs doing this stuff we wouldnt have these shows to go too ! Its just the knobs that screw it up so maybe we all need to do a little policeing or else we wont have shows to go too anymore , just because of sum *******s that take advantage of **** that scew it all up for all of US !
