Sorry about the loss of your father Kevin. i lost my grandfather about a 1year and a half ago. he was like a father to me, my brother, sister and i each did a eulogy for him, we each just spoke about what type of man he was, memory, his p***ions, his affect on people and how much we cared for him. speak from the heart. i spent what seemed all night trying to wrtie it and it all finally came to me when i wrote my true feelings down. keep it simple, p***ionate and honor him as you beleive he deserves to be. and

P.s. just cause it looks like alot on paper remember it may not be as long as you think it is once you actually start reading it.

Condolences from me Kevin, it's never good. Kevin, I obviously can't suggest anything you might say about your father, but your first post sounded pretty good, maybe you could work from there?

Lost my dad 8 years ago, and brother a year ago, both to cancer. I am very sorry for your loss, my deepest sympathy to your family. It is just hidious, this cancer ****. It really is hard for me not to dwell on it, so I'm learning to channel all my energy into bulding my roadster into a memorial to my dad and brother, we all deal with a loss like this differently.
    My thoughts and prayers, OLY

    The cancer car lives!

Hey everyone, A big Thank You!
It's been a week today, I still can't believe it!
I've been doing alot thinking. Went & saw where I put him in the wall @ the cemetery, I don't know how most of you feel about cremation-I am not a big fan of it. That is what my dad wanted so that is what his wife did.
When my #'s up, They'll have to bury me in the 55 Raven Black T-Bird w/kidneys and the black & white factory style tuck & roll interior that Pop's gave me for my 25th B-day. It was expensive for me @ the time, the shop did a lousy job-but because he used to cruise it as his daily up until 1972, and made me keep the car kinda nice, I'll keep that interior in there for as long as it or I may survive.
I'll remember this post & will keep it as a tribute to the Pop Suey Louie!(even though his name was Art).
The post above by Farm Boy says it all!!!!
    I wish that I know how to post a pic worth a sh*t. I'd show the bird-and I don't mean that one!

  8. Exactly!
You can be happy knowing you made him proud.
    Condolances man.

God bless him man! Your Dad sounds like a great guy. Makes me think of my Uncle Stan who p***ed when I was a punk kid. He helped turn me onto this hobby and now I wish I was half as cool as he was back in the day! Never had the chance to tell him. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

You said one thing that really struck me and thats your father told you he was proud of you. I'd give just about anything to have heard those words from my father. He p***ed away 4 years ago and I miss him most every day. We were at odds most of my life and I find it somewhat strange that I loved him dearly and still wish we had gotten along better. I live with it by convincing myself it was probably my fault that things were like they were between us. Be glad you don't have those feelings to deal with.
As time goes by you'll cherish your memories of him even more.

Kevin, I just caught this post. God Speed to your Dad. Lost mine in 2000 and I am not sure you quite get over it. Take care of your loved ones and yourself during this difficult time.

Kevin, I am so sorry to hear about your fathers p***ing. I will keep you in my prayers. I lost my Father this past Jan in a fire. Its been a long hard summer, without him at shows and just hanging around. I think about him constantly every day.

He is the reason I have a love for cars also. I sure as Hell miss him!!!!

Hang in there, and talk about it to friends it really does help.
