A year ago we (very understanding wife & self) took up a job offer in LA. We threw in our jobs, sent the kids out flatting (22 & 25yo) and rented the house out.It was really to satisfy a mid life crises of living in California and going to as many car events as we could. We have had a blast, attended a heap of rod runs, swap meets & shows. Met alot of HAMBers along the way, picked up a heap of parts for my 56 Olds convert project back home. I'm not sure you guys that live in California realise how lucky you are. Pretty much summer all year round and any number of car events on most weekends. Everyone is friendly ( unless you are on the freeway at rush hour). Looking forward to getting home, getting the 56 Olds sport coupe out of storage & in a couple of months our summer rodding season gets under way. Russell
Just think Russell,then-Everytime someone pops open a Dr Pepper you will miss us guys here in the states! I had no idea you were here all year, man! later Good wishes to you all- ........Kenny
Thanks Kenny As close as we got to you this trip was a trip to Memphis a few weeks ago(start of Elvis week, but thats another story). Actually we don't get Dr Peppers in NZ, but have good memories of our visit to your shop 3 years ago on our Route 66 trip. Russell
Yeah thats about 8-9 hrs from here Russell- when ya get HOME ,.....let me get your address and Ill send ya a case!
Too bad we didn't get to meet. Did you make it to the Primer Nat's? You don't get a true sense of the So Cal lifestyle living in LA. Ventura is where it's at! Glad you had a good year, see you next year at the Hot Rod Blowout.
He was there Kev. He came by the HAMB Camp on Sunday. So,are you gonna call in sick Saturday, and come to the Anti-donut breakfast? What are they gonna do...fire you! HA HA! If not. Have a safe trip back home. It was great meeting you and your wife. Take care...
Thanks Kev. We should have made a bigger effort to catch up with you. We probably have met in the past, I think you used to be with Papakura R & CC, I have been with Franklin Street Rodders for 30 years. Send us a PM when you come over for the Blowout. Cheers Russell
