    Thanks folks.

It's hard to tell in the pics but the tire has zero tread left on it. It looks like a re-cap de-capped. I ran out an dragged the pieces out of the road before someone else hit them. The biggest hunk was about half the tires worth. You wouldn't belive the ride that thing was giving us flapping around.

Where the tire failed, it's blown nearly in half.

  4. You weren't carrying a spare? Man, there's enough room in the boot of one of those cars for 5 spares!

  6. I guess the Supremes are going on the Biscayne for the Pileup?

I got the lenses out of the 4dr and they are already on my car, they were
cracked less than the ones I had.

No, I'll just get new tires on both of these wheels and use the still good drivers side tire as a spare...

The wheel appears fine, much to my surprise....

My heart stopped when I saw the headline ......... Duke's wife went through
a blow out years ago int their one ton pulling a trailer. When it blew and she
drove it right over to the shoulder just like it was nothing to it. Duke Was
impressed and told her how good of a driver she was being able to keep
everything straight. She said that she was too scared to panic. God is good.

    Kool that everything worked out.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

glad no one was hurt, minimal damage to car.so what kind of mods did you make to the drive line to make better? some trick stuff i need to know for my 59 elky?

Filled a standard carrier with urethane and had a slip joint put in the aft section. Spicer U-joints in all 3 places and had the whole assembly balanced.

    HUGE difference.
