Thanks for the pics Matt! ***berland is always a blast. WoW! who were those drunk guys at the dance?? DAMN! Always great to see our friends from PA.
What a great car show!!!! It was great to see you guys again cant wait till next year. As for the drunk guys we only had a few...
I love this show, not for the cars but the laid back time. This year we added the amazing Travis and the ramp of doom.
Sweet!!! when was this pic taken?? Yeah it is so much fun, i love when the so what guys light their fire! flamethowers are awesome!
Sunday after the awards. One of the guys (Gl***hole) won the cart in the raffle. We had it running it pretty quickly then we got shut down but after Travis jumped over another guy. I don't have a pic of that. I do have a fire pic.
Heres afew more. The first two are Saturday nights game of ****darts I didn't get and pics of **** dart because my wife had the camara. I 'm sure someone there did get pics of that. The other two are my favorites cars from the weekend.
Did anyone get a look at this early 50's car? The write up said it was painted by Barris and featured in Hot Rod in 1953. I saw it when I first got there on Saturday, but it was gone when I came back around lunchtime.
gashog...I saw that car pulling in and never saw it again. I didn't know so many HAMBers went. I knew there was a lot more traditional cars there this year. The guy's with the 55 g***er and the hoodless 50/51 Chevy all have nice cars. I'm guessing I BSed with Confede for a while. It was a busy weekend between helping out with the rod jousting and the regata I didn't see all of the cars. Clark
Yea Clark, That was me. Nice to finally meet you and Larry. Ill see you guys at the drags in PA. Todd
gas hog.. yep I saw that roadster.. cool as hell.. I know its been around.. as I have seen it before.. I think scarrylarry knows the owner.. I took a bunch of ****py photos.. but missed alot of fun while I was workin the swap.. i agree with 46mopar.. you really shouldnt go to this event and expect to see a "showstopper" but there are few places on earth where you can have as much fun.. cant wait for next year.. a few highlights.. 1. met up with a fellow hamber and friend "BH" I love that studebaker truck.. bills metalwork on his buddys 34 coupe is top notch.. here's the posse headin out. 2. My daughter learned quickly how to work the crowd.. and scored an ice cream on the house.. 3. I had a bit of alternator / battery /problems on the ride home.. (the reman alternator took a dump.. which COOKED the battery..) luckily I had my ace mechanic along for the ride.. thanks again Tokyo.. hope to see some of the knuckledraggers around before next years event! all my photos are up at. http://public.fotki.com/sawzallshop/some_photos_from/2008/western-maryland-st/
That's a local car, as I remember it was bought in Ca in the 60's and brought back to Pa by the owner of a local speedshop. He removed the flatty (as most guys did at that time) and installed a sbc. From what I heard, it never saw the road in Pa, and just sat in the shop all these years til this guy bought it and pulled the sbc, reinstalled a flatty, and finally put it on the road. It's a real nice survivor.
Sawzall I like that 47 you got there, looks real good. I also agree with clark that the PA boys with the 55 g***er and the 49 chop hoodless had the best cars there. the guy who owns the 49 got our best car at show trophy this year. But watch out those PA guys are a wild group!
Great to meet you at the swap, Sawzall (I was the tall skinny guy with the flathtop and HAMB shirt). Thanks for the engine shots; the cowling was down when I saw the car in the morning. I was hoping to catch the engine when I came back after lunch but the car was gone.
hay... were not a crazy group...and i also think that my buddy gave you guys some money for that trophy!! ha..ha.. it's great to see everybody there..can't wait until the drags at the end of the month see ya there.....
