straight axle gasser setup for 55-59 chevy truck

    i hear about econoline axles. and making a tube axle and arching leafsprings and
    whats the best setup if yall know .

    Use a straight tube axle with 2 leaf springs, make mounting pads on the frame, install your tie rod and drag linkl, and your shocks and your good to go.

    Why not use the straight axle that is in the truck?

    Maybe raise it 2 or 3 inches from stock. Flip the rear on top of the leafs and instant g***er stance.

    Use the stock front axle. Just re-arch the springs. Rears too if ya want.

    The stock front axle on these 'ol GM trucks have about 6" of factory drop in them.

    Leave the springs & replace the axle with a STRAIGHT TUBE AXLE.

    Will lift the front WAY up and actually look like you are building a g***er, NOT a lifted PickUp.

    You can get them to accept '49~'54 Chevy car spindles with 5on4 3/4 hubs.
