Returned a distributor cap to Autozone cause they gave me the wrong one, they wanted to give me store credit(cause they didn't have mine in stock!), but i told'm to jog on and give me back my money, then went to a mom and pop auto store where they actually have some years of experience and got the right part and changed it, no more missing, all cylinders are go! :)

  7. Managed to get the ammeter showing "charge" on my 6volt jalop.Trouble is I don't really know what I done?Fiddled about with the exterior regulator ,hit the dynamo a few clouts with the 5lb,and generally pushed and poked.Thats technical jargon to you not so mechanically skilled folk!!

  8. I will post mine in the thread about it. Here is the short version.
Make certain your polarity on your battery and cables is correct or your HEI will not fire no matter how much you will it to. Don't trust others work and always double check it.

Went to move the fuse block and the PO had just cut off any wires he didnt need about 2" out of the box and hadnt sealed them either. Worked that out when there was sparks everywhere when I unbolted the fuse block. Relocated it and terminated the cut off wires. The wiring is a mess so lots more work to do :) Couldnt work out why the car had just been stopping at the most inappropiate times. Fixed the earth lead in the trunk - problem solved.

Radiator needs to come out again too :(
