Im in need of some channeling ideas.

Ive searched the forum and theres only one thread from kustomkoupe showing how he channeled his body. Nothing in the Tech Archive either.

Im just looking for some pictures showing YOUR solution of how you mounted the body to the frame.

    Thanks

OMG!! The thread you suggested on Rolfs build is great! But even better, would you believe that I liked the car so much, Ive had the center fold pic out of the rod and custom mag on my wall above my computer for months! Had no idea all this time that I was looking at a HAMBers car! haha
    Thanks so far

Anyone else have pics of their answer to channeling??

as for mounting I bought tabs X 6 from the metal store
and weleded 1 to the frame structure and 1 to the frame and bolted it together.... make sure its all lined up before its weleded so when you put
the body back on it will all allign..

I'll see if I can find some pics of the mounts..

    evel,

Nice work! How did you go about attaching and sealing the floor to the sides of the body panels?

not sure if this is a "gold-chainer" response but horsepower tv did an episode on channeling an A roadster. I know you can buy the episode at i-tunes for $1.99 or so. I think it is pretty well done as far as channeling process goes. i would have bead rolled the floor and severl other details differently but you can get a pretty decent idea of one of the channeling processes. escuse the ***le:raunchy rat gets framed, is the one that has the channeling.

If you do a careful job of your tubing, the sheetmetal will fit nicely. It takes a helluva lot of time to channel a car and make it as uncomfortable as I did.

All the pieces of sheetmetal were cut from carboard templates I made them
as close to the body as possible without any gaps..

If your asking about the structure its weleded in several places..Kinda hard to explain in a post but mainly where alot of the original structure was I weleded
**** to..it was allot of work and i'm glad I don't have to do that again.

The Sheet metal was weled on by drilling holes where the structure is and
    spot welding and then grinding...

6 inch (frame height) channel on F1 pickup. Cut out everything that is in the way of the body falling over the frame. Put a step in it and weld it back in!
