Just got back from the So Cal East Open House at Blades' Speed Shop in Beaver Falls, PA... Great turnout and a great time was had by all... thanks to the guys at Blades, they really put on a nice event, with food, live music, and a parking lot full of cool hot rods. Pete Chapouris, Jimmy Shine, and our own "Littleman" were all there hanging out... all 3 seem like really great guys to me. I've heard stories before about Jimmy not being too personable, but I can tell you first hand that he was cool as heck, and was willing to BS as long as anyone wanted to about hot rods, the TV show, or whatever. Same goes for Pete and Littleman. Here's a few pics I took at the event.
Not necessarily... that was my initial thought too... but turns out he was there because he lives in Ohio, not far from So Cal East's shop in Beaver Falls PA, and said he hadn't seen Pete or Jimmy in "a few months"... I asked him point blank if he won, and he said they aren't allowed to talk about it due to contractual BS... he did tell me his coupe is still in the warehouse at So Cal in Pomona, so that sounds like a good sign to me! This was the first I ever actually met him in person and he's a super cool guy... talked at length about anything anyone wanted to BS about, and definitely knows his stuff!
I was there and yes it was a great time, I talked to littleman a good deal and he is a really great guy, I know if he was the one piced or not but I dont want to rewen it for the rest of you lol. But I think they have a guy who likes tuners I got a bunch of pics but have to have someone show me how to post them.
I bought a Crossfire distributor cap from the Blades shop recently. I was wondering why they sent the SoCal flyer and stuff in the box.
Damn, I wish I would have went... I figured it would have been rained out. I went to Crafton to check out the Drifter's show and nobody was really there from what I could tell so I went home.... I am glad it was a decent turnout.
