One of the best and worst things about running this joint is dealing with one crazy email box. It's bad in that I feel obligated to answer everything I get. It's good...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Considering how it ended up, it's odd seeing the Cochran coupe setting on an A ch***is and channeled to death huh?
i showed this thread to my wife and little girl.........my wife said, "and to think, right when he [ryan] came up to give casey that shirt, you were about to rip her **** for knocking over the trash can" hahaha, funny how the same object/person is viewed differently at the very same moment....you saved her!
All that's really worth saying at this point is I have gone through a LOT of mock-up phases and random rough sketch exercises... and continue to do so. But I continue to collect, think, and am rapidly closing on a plan. More soon.
Now I understand what Kevin meant..........isn't the "red oxide" coupe your current "Tardel/Cochran" coupe? Wow.......it has come a long way.......I remember the cardboard cut outs to make sure that you fit the coupe.......hahaha...... Chris Nelson Kansas
Actually, I think that is "version one" of the Cochran/Tardel coupe... The body was bought from Don Dillard's dad... and the frame was an A frame from another project (I could be wrong on the frame being from another project, but when I saw it in person, it appeared to have some older work done on it) I remember Keith talking about Ryan not fitting in the car... with the channeled body. Keith found another body, and they went with the '32 frame... I think I recall Ryan saying at last year's Pengrove show that he was totally suprized that the project had a different body... So, his current car is a totally different one than the one in the pic... Sam.
No. 2 is 99% perfect, and whilst No. 1 is so radically different, I think it would be a blast, as the stance was so wrong but right.....how cool would it be to have both sitting side-by-side in ones shed..... Dreaming is compost for the soul... Cheers, Drewfus
Man this shot of Gary Howard and his buddies in the Olds is cl***ic! At least 6 sharp metal objects protruding upward from the body, the probably one & only seat belt hanging from the floor, and bald bias-ply tires! A real cop magnet!
Once again Very Cool Stuff, I just love those old pictures that people took and had no idea that people would love to see 20,30,40,years later. Keep em coming Ryan Thanks again for all of your hard word on this site. 68ragtop
You wouldn't believe how true that statement is about that Olds being a cop magnet. And it went on the same for at least the next three cars.
Hey Yougin that first car looks like something your Grandpa would have been driving balls out on a bullring!Around here it would be towing some piece of farm gear like a hay wagon or something. As farm equiptment it didn't need to be registered for road use for one thing within 7 miles of home. And wasn't restricted as bad during gas rationing
great pics. the only email i seem to get is that guy that wants to sell me something to make my ***** grow. that 1 car garage pic is cool. the little lights hangin in the back are cool.
