Does anyone know if the Barris XM:SC120 coupe is actually the Chrisman Brothers's compe***ion coupe. Which came first? If anyone has pictures of this car please post them. I'm doing art work of them and need more research. Thanks in advance for anyone who may have images.

that chrisman coupe is abuot the coolest model A ever built. It was on the cover of hot rod in(feb?) 54. Barris really did a number on it when he had it, I am glad it is restored back to its original form. It would be cool if somebody recreated the barris version though, it was neat, just not as cool as the original.
They had the car set up so that you could drop the engine out form under the car , and they (chrisman) ran various engines for different records.
those color photos are from pebble beach where it won 2nd place -restored hot rod. I guess the coolest part was when they drove it to the podium for the award- full race hemi with open pipes!

  8. It came second!!?

    What the h*ll won?

  9. The Chrismans have built some amazing cars, especially in the 50s. That coupe and Jack's A Tudor are 2 of my favourite closed Hot Rods

    The So-Cal Coupe.

Oh and those gull-wings on the XM:SC120 ****!!

I have to agree... I wish there was a recreation of the Barris version.

To my eye this was about the coolest thing Barris ever presented.
I'm working on just that type of image for the Friday Art Show this week. Mine will look like the XM:SC210 but I'm making it a front engine version with some updates.
