Well I haven't accomplished much with the Tudor after Billetproof. Between work, school, getting Pneumonia, and riding (but mostly working on) my old Triumph bobber I really haven't had time. Recently I tried to roll it out of the driveway and onto the street. Unfortunately it drug bottom and got hung up on the approach to the sidewalk. Dirty Tace suggested I move, instead I decided to raise the car about 2". I've also got the floor almost done and I'm ready to run my brakelines. The gas tank and battery were also relocated last week so I have been working on this heap, just a little slower than I like. The first picture is the car at Billetproof sitting south of 4" from the ground. The new ride height is 5.75" at the rear and 5" at the bottom of the cowl. I actually like the new stance better. It's hard to see in the pics, but check out where the tire originally intersected the belt line, and now the line is above the tire. Enjoy, I have floors to build.
Definitely looks better at the new height, but Rat Rods International is going to kick your *** for raising it. Frank
Haha, they're probably going to be disappointed to see a full steel floor, no rust or bullet holes, and a complete absence of skulls, spider webs, and Maltese crosses.
I'm with Frank on the stance. It doesn't look so "Ratical". I'd even, ahem, suggest just a shade more for a bit of rake. Maybe an eventual change in tire would give you a rubber rake. I'm really liking it. For some reason, I'm visualizing it as an early '60's drag/show car build. You know, 5 spokes up front, steelies out back on pie-crusts, chromed roll bar, candy paint, a fibergl*** scoop on some dual quads, maybe a blower. White interior with a matching snap in roof insert. I can really spend someone elses money, can't I? It doesn't seem like you are too far off from lighting it up, huh?
