Aside from the squatty lump look of the photo-chop, the window frame area of door begins to overwhelm the window opening as height disappears, making door look thick and clumsy like a bad toy.
Keep the diamond plate so your bowling ball doesn't dent the bed...and show us the other toys the picture hints at!

  6. HELL YES!
since when did the hamb become a restorers web site?
    its already cool.
chopping it could only make it cooler.

    Remember,
there is no such thing as a car that is too nice to cut up.:)

    Heck yeah, chop it!!

Not really, leave it alone, the roofline is perfect as is on your truck.

BTW, what am I missing here? You have another thread that asks about the location of an old bike you had, shhhhhhhh, it's right there on the front porch......

I gotta learn to avoid these sort of posts. It makes me feel like the HAMB is being taken over by resto-pussies (and I mean that in the kindest way)

I like the truck just as it is, but damn.....it seems like everyone is so vehemently opposed to cutting anything anymore - it really bums me out. I wish someone would grow a sack and break out the sawzall.

    Here's a smily so people won't think I am ill-tempered :)

I'm all for cutting shit up, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But if he wants to borrow my Sawzall, it's ready to rock!

I'm in full agreement. No change for the sake of change, but it almost seems like we have a weekly (at-least) "God No - Please don't cut that up" post.

Like I say, I should just avoid looking I guess

This thing might be a stroke-
He also started a thread about the bike in the background claiming he sold it and hasn't seen it since the '90's

Yes! Yeah it looks good, but as a style change sure. Line up the rear window with the belt line and maybe shave the door handles or not, smaller outside mirror would help and the gas cap shaved as well. I do like that color. A white tonneau cover would add a nice touch too!

That truck is Bad Ass as it is.. but If had it and the money to due what I want this is what it would look like...Section the cab so the line on the cab
and stock rear fenders line up, Extend the fenders to fill the gap, Belly Buners with ribs, Shaved Doors and trim, white bed cover....Etc..

Al Bundy drives a 72 duster and works at a shoe store. he took that picture off the internet so we would all think he was cool.

I would NOT chop it, but a big back window would be cool.

I think if we were shown a truck that was waiting to be restored or rodded like the one you described, there would be less emphasis on keeping the lid where it is. However, that truck is by all appearances finished, and nicely done. Why anyone would go out of their way to start hacking on such a beautiful specimen is beyond me. DO like Kirk said and make a roadster out of an Apache ... just not THAT one.
