!954 Merc Anyone have pics?

I might be buying a 54 merc 2dr ht.Guy says car is solid with typical lower body rust.He says the front crossmember is getting soft. Ill have to go over it thourouhly. Waiting on pics.Mike

All the Ford/Merc passenger cars from 52-56 suffer from front crossmember rust and rot. I think Carpenter offers a new crossmember for some, but it ain't cheap.

 

Why is that? I have seen so many, is it rain runoff? It was the first mid crossmember design, is that why? Does water just collect there? Wierd.

heres a few 54 mercs from jersery one is the reneagade chirs,s uncle john,s when it was green in the early 60,s and same car in 2006 after bob barkoff redid it:and the white merc is frankie c that he has for a long time he and john showed both cars together at one time

 

If you are looking to buy,,Nightprowler has theirs for sale I dont think you would better (my opinion only)
