    Hello All!

Mike here in beautiful Tampa Bay. First off, I gotta say that I went to Texas this past week and met and hung out with Krupanut, Buzzard, and Fatluckys...Thanks guys for making me feel welcomed to the Lone Star State!

Well after har***ment from MBL and others to get a ride in addition to my Lou Grant 67 Connie, I have decided to build a rod. With special thanks to Voodo's finance department, I am buying from him a '30 Model A coupe (now *******) body and rolling chasis, and a few other goodies that come with it (big thanks Nate!!) The car is already to go for a 460 to mount right up, and thanks to my Lincoln connections, I can get one from the late sixties dirt cheap, with ******. Although I really want a stick, the rod is all set up for the C-6 mounting, and it comes with the engine purchase price. (I guess I will just have deal with the DV8 automatic stigma for right now) I got the steering wheel and box, so after the motor and brake work, she'll be on the road. She looks great in the flat black that is on it, but I got some paint schemes in my head. To add a little more uniqueness, I am using a '52 Kaiser Henry J dash for the instrumentation. I just hope I don't kill myself with this thing!

I will definitely be on more now, probably asking stupid questions, but I am new to building a car, so I thank anyone in advance who may help me out. A quick thanks here to all my friends in Tampa; Voodo, MBL, DV8, repoguy, Stevie T, and sinner, the Devil's Cabin Boy. [IMG] who will also help, right guys?? [IMG] Talk to you all later, can't wait to get some pics up.

Awright! A big, honkin' 460 in a chopped up Model A...I like the sound of that! [IMG] [IMG]

I saw a cool little t-bucket with a 429/460 in it down at a party in Indianapolis last Summer, and it was easily one of my favorite rods there!

There's just something devilishly cool about a big block Ford in a flyweight rod! [IMG]

Post some pics as you go!!!!!!!!

I hate how slow I type. Seems like everytime I reply to something, by the time I'm done someone posted almost the same thing! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
But then again it reasures me that I'm surrounded by like minded folk and that's what I love about the HAMB. [IMG]

Got a 460 im my little A roadster too. They're cheap and reliable and go like hell in tiny car. And hidden under a hood no one any the wiser.

Henry J dash huh? Cool. Would love to see the looks on faces trying to figure out what it is once it's done.

Great pic Nimrod! you sure are right about the price and the power! What year is your motor? The one I am looking at getting is a 68 Continental 365hp/485 torque...I'll probably need to invest in good tires too!

hey Mike, it was good to have ya in Austin.
That Hot Rod is one hell of deal and it'll be a serious screamer with that big Lincon.

    Keep us updated.

Pleae Mike, of all people! I may #%$% stuff up sometimes, but let's not place me in the gutter with him! [IMG]

Since you mentioned it, he has totally taken a '73 Riv Boat tail down to nothing: body off, chasis sitting on jack stands, the interior in a storage unit! He claims it should be done in a week or when he gets more money, which ever comes first! This individual I know is royally screwed, yet he refuses to believe it! [IMG]

I saw a picture of the car with a 460 in it when Voodoo first bought it. It looked "all business", it's also been widened about 3 inches on each side from the back of the doors, to the tail, so the engine didn't look soo huge in comparison.

Draglinks. Why would you want to dog out Frankie? After all... he can chop tops, cut his own gl***, do all the bodywork, and spray some sweet-*** metalflake... all without an air compressor or welder!!! Now THAT'S skill!!! [IMG]

Just a minor correction brought to my attention by MBL: I am using a Henry J instrument cluster, not the whole "dash board" not that it would make any difference, seeing that the Henry J dash is just as austere as a stock Model A.
