Congrats on your great showing on Hard Shine. I think you did yourself proud by the way you conducted yourself and the level of skill you brought to the table. I hesitate to say this because I've said some unpopular things on the HAMB lately, but I was half hoping Ritchie would "win". From what they showed on TV, he seemed like the best fit for that environment. He has developing talent, and he seemed willing to learn to do things the So-Cal way. I wanted you to win, because I want good things for good people. However, I didn't want you to go work for So-Cal for selfish reasons. The hot rod world needs guys like you building the cars that you see in your head. There are very few people that can go outside of the box with ideas, and still have the ability to pull it off. I hope you can find a way to take care of your family and continue to explore your hot rod craziness.
Once again, congratulations on a fine finish to the show. Maybe there is a flaw in the statement "nice guys finish last". You sure proved that in a big way. Above everything else I'm most impresses with how "grounded" you are in the most basic and important aspects of life. When someone puts love of family and home at the top of the priority list you can't go wrong.
KICK *** ! CONGRATS TO DAVE (little man) glad to see A Fellow Buckeye stater get the job . I knew Jimmy would recognize your p***ion and drive , Was still a nail bitter until I saw Jimmy step in your direction! AWESOME JOB DAVE GO LIVE THE DREAM FOR US ALL!!! any reply dave???????
I'm glad to see someone in this day and age actually put his family ahead of a job opp. Since you are out of work, it is a good time to open Dave's Garage..... There's bound to be enough people in Ohio who would want someone with talent like yours to keep you busy building hotrods....
Congrats to Dave !! Richie has been a pal of mine for years, so congrats to him too! If I ever stop by, I'll have to bring beers. Sounds like a cool shop. ~Scotch~
Great job, "better call the wife", was one of the best lines on the show! The folded arm stare down at the end of the show reminded me of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
I grew up in the general area you are located at now and I'd prefer the North Coast over the West Coast also. Sounds like you are trying to decide what's best for the family which is pretty rare today. I guess we may not be seeing you in the People magazine or The National Enquirer sneaking around with the Hollywood starlets. Penicillin shots aren't something to look forward to anyways.
Dave, If you built your own shop here in Ohio people would flock to have you build them a car or work on their car also. California has nicer weather than in the mid-west but it also is very expensive to live there. I am sure you will make the right decision. Your place in the hot rod world has been made. Good Luck to you. Gary M
Congrats Dave!! Now all they need to do is dump "**** Shine" and call the show "LITTLEMAN". Dave knows more about Hot Rods that Shine will ever know!!!
It was just an oversight, I'm sure it won't happen again. Dave, forget about California and Ohio and come to NC. We have a great car-culture here and still plenty of great old iron around. I'll work for you for free until you think I'm ready to earn my keep!
Well the first thing ya know Littleman's a billionaire The kin folk said ; Dave move away from here, They said ; California is the place ya' otta' be ! So they loaded up the truck and they moved to So-Cali !
Dave is now world wide... He can have a Hot Rod shop anywhere,,,, even his back yard. ;D Dave I hope you open your own shop to build sick cars and continue to to push the envelope.
Congrats to Dave and Ritchie. They both worked their ***es off and deserved a shot to work there. I'm glad that Pete and Jimmy did the show because it was a great look behind the scenes of a real shop. Plus, as an employer, you can't beat a 5-month trial period to find out what your new hires are really like. I have the utmost respect for you, Dave. You are a ruler.
Dave- Finally I got to see the rest of the episodes that I missed at ***us's on Tivo- Tivo rules... and that show turned out awesome... I say this because the 14 yr old up the street would come and ask me almost every week what was going to happen next, who was going to win... haha... I kept him in full suspense... didnt budge an inch. I think the best thing is that he told me he was for sure going to grow up to do what we do... and thats build hot rods. ONE KID... one hundred kids... I think the show is inspiring. Good job man. I'm super proud of the way it all turned out- Good job Socal and Jimmy for keeping this **** on the level- now we have all kinds of new shop lingo to use... Is this a 10 or a 2? hahaha.... the show ruled. I enjoyed it... Tuck
Dave, we enjoyed watching you on the show very much and were the deserving choice. So what have youy been up to since the show and what do you plan to do next since you did not acccept the job offer?
We don't get the show yet but I,ve got the essence of whats gone on and fwiw loved your build up on here and everyone is rooting for you.I bet your one of the good ol, boys, good luck, when.s your next story.
Congrats to Dave, I only caught one episode and that was already half finished. I just do not watch much TV. Seems that Dave was the best choice form what I saw. Good luck in whatever you end up doing Dave.
I'm glad Dave didn't stay out there. Some things are better kept away from the m***es, we should be selfish once in a while. Every one who gets their own T.V. show turns to **** in the eyes of real hot rodders, deservedly or not. I have a friend who thinks it's cool that he drives an Infinity and believes that any modified car built before 1950 is a "Rat Rod." It would really **** if he called me every week, "Dude, did you see the new rat rod on Late Night with David Littleman last night?"
I own the 57 Chevy g***er they did on the show. I know Dave isn't into being in the limelight, but I've been a HAMBER for a while now. I had seen plenty of his talented work here on the HAMB. To say I was honored to have him work on my car is an under statement. For those who don,t know him it's hard to believe he may even be a better person than he is builder. Thanks again Dave for all your efforts. Todd
Jumped outta my seat when you got the nod !! Fantastic, very happy for you Dale I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the Intolerant, and kindness from the Unkind; yet strangely, I am ungrateful to these teachers." -Kahlil Gibran
Good Luck Dave! Us MN boys are pulling for ya, glad to see you got offered the job...i hope i get a chance to work at a pro shop someday...keep up the good work man.
Dave, AKA littleman is an amazing builder. Deaths doorstep has been an inspiration to me since I first layed eyes on it. I am anxiously awaiting the outcome f his 32. Any hints dave? I am betting he will knock the rest of us on our dirty lil ***es with it, just like the last one. Jim Sibley
your car is a 10 not a 2 seriously cool 57.....any pics...it was either moving or apart when it was on tv
