Hmmmm....I'm noticing something here...You won't go because you don't like Bo Huff, you won't go because of Rockabilly music, and you won't go because someone used the term Rat Rod...LAME!!!I would go to boycott the capitilization and theft that San Bernardino county has commited against The Over The Hill Gang car club and the fact that $80 is a ****load to pay for parking on a public street...I like rockabilly,I like cars, and I like a relaxed atmosphere...Screw it,I'll go....Besides,who said all the cars there belonged to and were built by Bo Huff only??

I have met Bo at a couple events and I have to say that he is a kool fella, taken the time to chat and was freindly. I might not agree with some of the things he does but to each is own in the world of hotrodding.

Any place with like minds and vintage vehicles is always a good time. I just try not to discriminate cars that I dislike. I just keep it to myself, make a note not to do, and get on with it.

Yep, Bo is a very nice guy. I've partied with him a bunch. But I still don't personally like the whole skull and spider web rat rod scene. Bo's fabrication skills are killer, I just don't like the over the top styling. That doesn't make it right or wrong, just my opinion.

As for my rockabilly statement, I have said since day-one that I don't pair rockabilly and hot rods. I have had hot rods and customs for over 20 years and have never been into rockabilly. It bugs me that they automatically get paired up. The flyer says rockabilly car show right on it.

Is this the same show that Over The Hill Gang and The Old Farts are throwing? Doesn't sound like it, plus most the members of each club are a lot older than this one's guest of honor, and they're probably more concerned with having enough ice cold beer and bbq than anything else--oh, and making sure Berdoo sees their collaborative bird being flipped at them.

I tend to lean over to simple, subtle builds. Not into over the top builds either. I phrased the term a****st freinds "custom-stock"
Though it's customized, still retains a stock look.

Even at Rockabilly, Ratrod events or even Billet Extravaganza events, there will always be one or two cars in this category that I will molest with my camera.

I'm to far away for either show anyway so I guess I'll just clam up.

You guys don't know how good you have it, three car shows on the same weekend.

All the car shows around here are usually about 20 cars (mostly lowriders and tuner cars) in a parking lot with a bunch of bikes mixed in and blasting reggatone music.

The only other one is the monthly parking lot meet at the burger place with the same 20 cars every month.

There was some big thing at the Civic center two weeks ago but I didn't go when I saw trailered Donks and Lowriders coming into town.

I dont recall bo huff ever building a skull and spiderweb car, so why does some say this about him? Is it because he embraces the rat rod crowd? I dont like his cars that ive seen , cause i think he over does them in a bad way, and you guys say i messed up a good merc!

Bo "Paint" Huffer, good one...But would you call him that to his face??If you vcan't say it to someone's face, you shouldn't say it at all..See,I'm crazy enough to say the same stuff to people's face, but then again,I'm also a big boy..Rockabilly Car show...A car show with Rockabilly bands playing...Hmmmm,doesn't sound too odd to me,but even I have said rockabilly and cars are no relation subjects..But,Over The Hill gang got screwed by Berdoo county on this one,and from what I heard, ain't none too happy about it..

We stopped at Bo's shop, home and museum on our Salt-Cured HAMB tour a few weeks ago and I was more than impressed. He is a very cordial , generous and talented guy. His museum is simply fantastic - one could spend countless hours enjoying his collection and stories. He's extremely knowledgeable about rods and customs, rockabilly (and other music as well - Neil Young's his favorite) and the fifties culture. He's keeping real busy making personal appearances and pacifying his community. I'm a big fan, now.

Again, what does the OTH have to do with this particular show? The one I was told about is being called Magical Mystery Tour, which will be like a poker run (w/o the poker) visiting local Riverside area shops before ending at a club member's shop. No Bo about it.

I think it would be a good event if we have some huge HAMB presence there. What do you think? Bo Huff or not!?

Got more info on the show.

There is a raffle (only with tickets issued at gate). Supposed to be different in most respects. From what im told, 20 tickets will be selected. They will go on stage. From there, those tickets will be picked for each "giveaway" starting at the 20th person. When the Top 5 are left, for the top 5 "giveaways" they will be able to sell thier tickets to the highest bidder (money kept by the owner of the ticket). When the final/best "giveaway" is given away, the owner could aution it off to the crowd.

Also, there is rumor that a "modeling" agency in L.A. who specializes in Pin Ups is going to bring thier corral of girls to hang out.

Even though street rods will be present, the show is going to be divided into 2 halves. Traditional on one side, Street rods on the other. (there will be 2 entrances)

There's expected a big showing of cars. Get there early.

route 66 is filled with trailer queens. their rules state, no bags, hydraulics, thing has to be somewhat of show worthy paint and chrome must be right or something like that. show is a joke, well maybe good for what is the general persons thought of what a hot rod is.

i'll be at the huff show, see you guys there.

Just got back, I had fun. Took lot of pictures but I'm at work now so I'll post'em later. It was nice to meet you out there Ralph, We forgot to ask you what you'll want for your box when you want to sell it. Somebody needs to build a Nice COE water truck to knock down the dust at some of these shows,
I'm going next year for sure if I'm not at Billetproof.
Thanks a ton Bo. You put on a nice little shindig & I know you had a good time!
