I just finished lettering a new race car for a guy in my car club. I saw a few posts about 60's era lettering and AMC fans, figured some of you might like this. It's all AMC and ane of those cars you love doing just because it's so unusual. Hope you like it.
Damn that's neat... always thought they had a "ChevyII" look to them. Learn to post bigger pictures though!
Ha! that is now 3 amc powered g***ers in the Cleveland area! Look out you big 3 guys Kevin, looks great. Don
Nice to see some AMC cars on here. That one is a natural for a g***er and those 390 AMC engines ran pretty strong.
I wonder if that's the one that my buddy had? His son drives truck for a local s**** dealer, and someone s****ped an old AMC g***er complete with magnesium wheels, slicks, and straight axle, no drivetrain. He bought it for s**** value and it sat at my buddies for about a year, then got traded off in the spring. I really wanted that car. I'll see if he has any pics.
Nope, that is not the car. However, if you want to buy the car you are asking about, pm BigChief. He has it and wants to sell...Magnesium wheels and all! Don
Jeez i need to move over near you guys. its hard finding AMC fanatics around me. Car looks really good though.
You guys have to see it in person, the pics don't do it justice! Totally bad ***! Nice job Kevin. Dave
pictures dont do it justice. the letters just jump off the car in person. kevin, youve done it again. rock on!
Thanks guys! Jim picked it up tonite and went nuts. It'll be out this spring. For the locals that know Jim, he's using the 390 from his Hornet, but with some crazy aftermarket heads. It ought to be some fun.
i have it on good authority that don moyer has purchased the same heads jim is putting on his motor. the horsepower war escalates.
YUP. Here it is. This was a very popular local car with lots of history. It ran and was either points champion or in contention for champ at Niagara, NY International, Lancaster and Spencer from 1968 thru 1974. It is on the Niagara Reunion '96 video. Its been off the track since the mid 70's and we've been in the process of a full restoration and safety update since 1989-90. I'll be putting an ad together soon in the For Sale area with the car's history. The older pics are from around 1968 to 1974. The newer pics (white/blue livery) are from the past ten years. The car still isn't finshed but its very close and we have most of the items needed to complete it. Enjoy! -Bigchief.
I'd like to share stories to see if this car is the one your buddy had in his yard.....this one was in a yard in WNY for a little bit.... you got any details of where the yard the car your buddy was talking about was located? -Bigchief.
Has anybody seen this car lately?? This car was my dads. We sold it about 5 or 6 years ago. My dad was just wondering the other day if it was running again. We spent a lot of weekends at the track with this car. Had a lot of fun beating up on all the fords and chevys at Union Grove Dragstrip.
???? I am not putting aluminum heads on my g***er......just running the old cast iron....its all about the fun for me, no war yet. Sides, havent seen a fast choppers g***er yet hehe.... that out to get me in some ****.....
Kick ***,Its awesome seeing respect for AMCs and other AMC nuts like me on here.Heres my other p***ion besides g***ers and traditional hot rods. It's best e/t was 11.82 @ 110 in the 1/4 all motor. Its been a drag car since it was new. Those who go to Moroso Motorsports park in West Palm Beach Fl. may have seen it before there.
