Here is one that I hated to see. There is a 26 Buick 4-door sedan in there...complete except the wood in the body. it rotted out and the body collapsed. They didnt even try to get it out for the auction

The 37 Willys advertised was not a Willys. its a 37 Studebaker, and the guy that drove 9 hours to buy it was fit to be tied

Heres another basketcase 28-29 A that they didnt even try to move, They left it to the buyer to get it out of the trees. The pics make it look good. The body is so thin that there is nothing to weld patches to. There is pinholes along the beltline and along every seam in the body.

Last pic for the day. This is(was) a Model A sedan sometime in the past. Instead of moving it to sell it, they just piled it up and left it for the s****pers

I believe that is the one (there were 2 in the parts car area) that the s****per stopped bidding at $250 and the car was bought for $375. Both Crowns wer bought just over where the s****per stopped bidding, and I think they went quite cheap. There is another unrestored Crown that will sell today. Its a pretty nice car...don't think it'll sell quite that cheap :D

It is seriously rusty too  in places I don't like to see rust.
I'm not sure what happened with it. I heard the high bidder left without paying for it after he found out it wasnt a Willys. I'm not sure if it is going to be re-auctioned or sold to the next bidder.

    Ray,

If you go back, & it's available, I'd kill for this radiator shell.

    Thanks, Jim

Talked to the s****per this morning and he said as far as he knows he will end up with that car since he has contracted to clean up after everything sold is gone. He is supposed to call me as soon as it is clearly his, and then it will be mine. I told him i'd buy the car if he let me dig it out of the bushes instead of them destroying it with their forklifts.

Here is what some of the cars brought Sunday...F**kin insane!

    28-9 Model A roadster pickup, $17K
    Model A Roadster, $13K
    Model AA flatbed, $5K
    1918 Buick touring car, $650
    American-LaFrance fire truck $2K
    Model A fire truck, $5K
Most of the 20's Chevy cars I posted pics of went for $10K and up
One 56 Chevy pickup with very low miles (supposedly, but coming from one of the most crooked mile-cuttin car dealers in Murray), engine stuck, faded paint but solid body, brought in the $30K range. I can't remember the exact amount but somebody really wanted to throw some money around in my opinion.

I didn't get back to Memphis until 1:00am. The auction would have been over a hell of a lot earlier if old man Brandon didn't think he had to get up and tell a story about every car that sold. Who the hell really cared about who he got it from and what they traded it in on. You could tell that the auctioneer was getting pissed every time the guy shut him down.

I can't complain though. I got the NOS Chevy six and the NOS transmission (still in the GM crate) for $60. The truck load of wheels was $25 and the rusty El Camino was $1200.

There will be another auction in Little Rock on the 28th & 29th.

Great! I'm glad one HAMBer got there and got some good stuff anyway. I was told this morning that the total from Saturday and Sunday was $2.6M. Throw in Fridays sale and I imagine it topped $3M.

One thing that really pissed me off was a statement he (Brandon) made to the local newspaper. "I've enjoyed them all I can, now it's time to let someone else enjoy them."
Maybe that's the case for the few restored cars that sold on Sunday, but for everything that sold on Friday, he should have said, "I've hoarded them in the woods and kept everyone else from enjoying them until nothing is left to enjoy, so now I'll see what the crusher will give for them."

I don't like him and I never will, and I know the auction folks (and bidders) were getting ready to choke him. He's a senile old fart who has spent his entire life robbing old people out of those old cars and farm equipment, buying it for a fraction of what it was worth. Lots of folks around here dont care much for him and his shady business.

Looks like they're no better than they were here. They've got a 65 Buick GS listed, but the pictures are a late Jag.

Yep, I guess you right. 57 was the first year for the 392. Good thing I wasn't bidding with my years off
    Thanks for the correction.
