Groucho, I went the first year and didn't like the show and the unfriendly KKOA group. Will not ever go again. I don't like the way the KKOA presents itself, this is just my opinion. Have a great time if you go. Cruiser
HMMMM. Unfriendly? Wait til they get a load of me. hahaha. I heard it's small, and they don't care to promote it. Call it morbid curiousity. I think it was the same weekend as the Hot Rod reunion one year, but i've been wanting to at least check it out
Went last year. Had a good time. Wish I could get them to do it on a Sat and Sunday instead of Friday and Sat. Yea, some KKOA members have an attitude, but don't we all. Craig
I've been to both previous ones, and I'm planning to be at this year's too. I've had a good time each year. It is NOT a big show, so having friends there and enjoying Solvang is part of the draw.
You betcha! C'mon out and check it out, last year was great. Reminds me of Paso 10 years ago, last year we met Jerry and Divona Titus for the first time and just had a great time talkin kustoms with them. Earlier this year we went to the LeadSled Spect. in Kansas and met some of the best people I've met in a long time, the KKOA is a great organization, they are more kustom minded than hot rod minded and that suits me just fine. If you cant get a hold of anyone, contact me I have some entry forms here.
Is Friday worth going? I'll be passing through and I may not have a chance to get there Saturday but would like to go. But its a little out of the way so I don't want to go if everyone is just setting up for Saturday.
I'm going with my family and taking my dad who is really excited about going and making a trip out of the weekend! KKOA is a great group of customizers, my dad included. The vibe of the shows differ just as everyones cars and that is what life is about....choice and individuality! Shiny paint or Rat Rod Prime it's a show and it's doing something you enjoy so why not go out and support the cause?!
Me and the wife are headin up in the wagon friday. My buddy and his wife will be following in their 59. I love the drive up there, and if we get bored in town we can always go loose some money over at the casino.
Pretty much the same cars will be there both days. There will NOT be enough cars that you need two days to see them; if you're not hanging with anybody there, then Saturday is probably plenty.
Yes. Me and my buddy Randy plan on being there about 9AM in his 60 Dodge. White primer/green flake top, on Supremes. You?
