Finally got the 31 rolling at least, pics are a little dark but maybe you can make them out, It looks great to me already. 32 ch***is is pretty typical, 4" drop chrome axle, hairpins, tie rod etc, 37 spindles, 40 brakes,46 hubs, buick drums, f-1 shock mounts, I have a vega box and an F1 , don't know which I'll use yet, vega feels a little rough, I think the bearings are shot. Rear is an early bronco 9 inch, with 40 spring, and ladder bars. Managed to get a really good buy on the engine, which is a fresh 65 vette 327 with 461 heads, offy tripower with factory tripower rochesters, mallory dist, and a nice rumpty cam. Trans is a M21 muncie close ratio, which was believe it or not donated by a good fried for the project. Also lucked up and was able to swap the 35 wires I cant use for another set of 16" steelies with new 6.50s on them,(not in the pics) I'm going to try to trade 2 of them for 6.00, or 5.50s for a little better drop in the front. Hood line looks like its going to be okay with a stock height radiator, I dropped the model A crossmember as low as possible to get the radiator down. (thanks C9) Grill shell and insert is a filled original one I bought before prices went crazy. Now to get to work on the body, have most of what I need now except for left side doorskin, also want to replace panel above rumble lid, mine is pitted pretty bad. I have another drivers side quarter, so I'll also be changing this hacked up one out. Hopefully it'll look better soon. still got to deal with the 23 bullet holes on the p*** side.
thanks guys, kinda wanted a flathead, but I think the 327/tripower/4speed combo will be a ton of fun, dont imagine it'll hook up real well though. cant wait to drive the thing. That duval windshield is probably going to stay natural br*** finish...can you believe $450.00 to chrome it?
