HAHAHAHA! you mean you'd punch Boyd in the ovaries, right? :D
but you know, if you're really really good at something I bet he'd let you work there a couple of months before he 'fired' you...(I.E. you were fed up with it and quit and they edited the show to look like you got fired...)

How does the Lyle Lovett song line go?

    "Thats right,you're not from Texas,
But Texas loves you any way!"

That is the perception I felt every time I was there, granted ,its been a while.

For the most part,I think that the "southern hospitality, friendliness " aspect would be something ***ociated with demographics, and would not be lost.

    Like here in Ga.

I was born and raised here, don't like a lot of **** that is happening here, and am ready for a change.

But i'll still be friendly and speak to ya'.

But if you are a *****,and I am not insinuating as such,i'll pick up on that right quick like!

Then you will be on my "**** list".
Thats a hard list to get off of!

I know you were job hunting, and wound up getting a lot of other un-solicited ********.

It will be all in what YOU make of it,and nothing else, and you will do well or move on to something else.

I would choose Texas over California,as the ground SHAKES too much out there for me!

    Got your **** packed yet?

    LETS GO!

My daughter was born in Austin...I think that makes her a native...so I'm here living with my native Austin daughter :)

Buzzard was the first PM I got when I was going to move here almost 4 years ago. I remember how he welcomed me then and how he still welcomes me now. Lux is a great guy too. I'm his little oriental buddy...I think what they're trying to say is, if you move to Austin because you like Austin you're always welcome as long as you don't try to change it....Traffic is getting worse but nothing compared to when I lived in CA. There's a few rod shops out here that could use your skills. I just don't know what they pay.

  8. I agree with Mike on this account although I moved to Austin in 2000 and out in 2003 but seen alot of changes in that short period of time... "Some Good" and some "Not so Good".

I hope you havent gotten the wrong impression of Austin or Texas for that matter. Come down to San Antonio and we will treat you right! Plenty of work and only 85 miles south of Austin. Plus better food, not as many sprouts :D

My own opinion, if you can't own land there, don't go there. Go someplace where you can afford a few acres, especially if it's private and out of sight of others, much less h***les and room to do what you want when you want. I have never been able to understand how people put up with a small apartment in so cal just cause the whether is good. JMHO

if you dont fear high costs, move on over to the bay area. we can always welcome another traditional car guy. the weather is great, and the people involved in our little car circle here are tops. i love it here.

i moved to socal from michigan when i was a kid. i like it there too.

i moved to norcal from socal about 7 years ago. love it more. san jose is my home.

  14. now THAT sounds like california. if you can stick to the more rural areas of where ever you go. i hate to say it but there will be a time when EVERYWHERE will be like that.......i can see it coming and hopefully i'll be real old.

  15. are you kidding me ??? try living in a place that's on T.V (the o.c, newport beach, laguna beach.....) it really brings out the wannabes. the way i see it is california puts up with everyone from other states, they can put up with ours (within reason....california egos ****). i wanna leave after i retire and don't want to be h***led for it where ever i go.
