How much is a 1929 ford roadster body worth?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by sparkydeluxe, Sep 17, 2007.

  1. So this weekend by the grace of God I happened across a clean 29 Ford Roadster body in pretty damn good condition. I've built a few bikes and cars over the years, and have been wanting to try my hand at a hot rod for quite sometime now, but I got a ton of other expenses that haunt me everywhere I turn, and might need to see this thing go before any work is under way.

Any of you guys out there sell one of these bodies before? What is something like that worth these days? Not yet ready to sell neccessarily, but if it comes down to it I don't want to put some stupidly expensive price on it, or sell my self short. Just curious. Thanks!

Depending all on condition and what is there, I would say for a bare body with decent subrail, decklid, doors and windshield stantions and frame maybe somewere around 4-6k. i have wanted a 28/29 since forever and would shell out 5k anyday of the week for a good body. But thats just me. In reality it is worth whatever your willing to pay for it.

An orignial '32 roadster will bring twice what a Brookville '32 roadster body will. But I don't think the same really holds true for a Model A.

How much is a new Brookville '29 roadster? If yours is good, I'd guess it is worth what a new Brookville would cost. If yours is excellent, maybe it's worth a little more than that new Brookville.

Your "pretty damn good condition" & mine could be a world apart though.

A deal is anything less than 3K, if it's complete.

    They usually sell for 4-5K.

For comparison, you can buy a new brookeville for 5K.

I just saw one a few weeks ago for $2500. It was pretty clean, needed a couple patch panels. I've already have one so I p***ed on it.
