Has anybody on here heard of or has anybody used AAAdvantage Auto Transport Inc.? They are based out of Tempe, Arizona .... I need a car transported from Michigan to California and they quoted me $945. Fully insured, door to door service...which was alot cheaper than anyone elses quote...but then when the rep faxed me the forms to fill out, The first form they sent me was a Consumer Alert form on what to look out for when choosing a carrier...and it said to beware of the companies who's quotes are alot cheaper than others, who require a deposit (which they did), and it plainly says that after the deposit i am to pay the balance to the driver in the form of Cashiers Check or Money Order ONLY! but the rep said laughingly "OH! trust me., my driver will definitley take cash..hahaha!" I felt uneasy about this but the price is right and i don't know where else to turn for quotes.... the other guys i have called are almost double! Has anybody dealt with these guys before? or can you refer me to a quality carrier that won't take me for broke?..

    I would appreciate it,

Another one to try is Cl***ic Auto Carriers out of Canton Mi & Phoenix/Scottsdale Az. They gave me some good quotes on 6 cars but still were out of my price range for 6 & this was 4 years ago.

I see their trucks on I-80 all the time when traveling from Calif to Mi.

High quality when I see their trucks.

I'm arranging a delivery from BenD in the next few days to bring a car from Omaha NE. to Sacto. CA. I talked to him today & I think he was on the east coast somewhere doing a delivery. Maybe we can work a package deal to bring 2 cars out west. It's a thought!

From what I've heard, McNutt transport is really good, and they are pretty inexpensive as well. It should be around $1400 to have it shipped door to door, fully insured.

They have an instant-quote on their website if you want to check it out (www.mcnutttransport.com).

  17. With auto shippers you get what you pay for. The less you pay for, the less you get. Think of it as buying the cheap made in China tools instead of the heavy duty Snap-On set.

The way it usually works is they give you a rate, and then different haulers will take the car from one distribution center type of place to the next one, and get paid part of that amount you paid.

What usually happens is the car gets to the one closest to you and sits and sits and sits because it's not profitable for anyone to make a special trip to you on East Bum**** Lane 150 miles from the interstate to drop it off, for the remaining amount of money left after everyone else has taken a chunk for hauling it on their segment of the trip. And it may sit in storage lots for days and weeks waiting for a truck going the right way who wants to take it with him.

That doesn't even include possible damage in loading, unloading, or while sitting around waiting.

If you can't afford to spend $2000 to have the car brought to you, either you need to drive it back yourself, haul it back yourself, or you can't afford the car.

I won't comment on this company per se as I've not used them though I've read about them. Do a google search for transport companies. This is NOT the transport company but a broker who will try and find a driver. Typically, brokers are trouble.

There's a tractor hauling site where you can list your load and have an actual driver give you a price. Sorry but I don't have the correct shortcut as this is a new computer and the link was on the old one.

I've used this site multiple times and have had excellent results with those transporting my stuff for very reasonable rates.

Take a second and read what dirty thirty had to say again. I called tripple A to have a desoto hauled out of new hampshire they took my 200.00 deposit and a month later the seller called me threatening to charge 20.00 per day storage fee. After calling tripple A numerous times I got the same ******** and yeah it gets worse. Being new to the whole game I called another courier "Express Auto Transport" they took the same 200.00 dep oh yeah did I mention I didnt get my deposit back from Tripple A and I finally got my car from Express six weeks later. Good Luck and Gods Speed

I've said it many times on this site (and others) before . . . check out Teeter Transport. I've used them 3 times now and referred many friends to them as well. All have been very satisfied. Call Teeter and tell them Adam Bateman in Minnesota told you to call. http://www.omahatransport.com/ 402-933-3618

Drive it. I brought my '59 F100 home to Dallas from Lexington, KY and had a blast in the process.

Also did the same with my '65 panhead: Newport New, VA to Dallas.

When I had my '63 T-Bird and '60 F100 shipped from California to West Virginia the guy that picked them up drove a Dodge 1 ton dually with a fifth wheel trailer that already had a Mercedes on board (that's what I though they would use). When they delivered the cars to me they were on a open car carrier with about about 3 or 4 big long limos. The truck was on the top and the Bird was on the bottom sitting with the nose in the air (T-Bird gas filler cap is in the middle of the back of the car so all the 1/4 tank of gas they said it should only have poured out!) so I had chipped paint across the deck lid from the drive wheels of the semi. It cost me $950.00 bucks each to ship them (4 years ago) so you get what you paid for!!! My friend told me to make sure I had them shipped in an in-closed truck... wish I listened to him.

Heard good things about Stevie G who advertises on this site. A real cheap price from a car hauler may be like a **** Filled *****ie.

I used AAAll States based out of Iowa. They were very straight forth and great to deal with. Ask for Randy 866-351-9994. They shipped my running '59 on an open trailer from MN to CA door to door for $1100. $200 for broker fees, $900 to the driver.

Be aware that many of the companies you will find are brokers and are putting your bid up on a board where truckers will pick and choose the jobs they want to take based on $$$, route, and cargo. The more $$$ you plan to spend, the quicker your car will ship.

    Good luck.
