i have this front leaf. i thought i was going to be able to use it on my model A project but i came to realize that this thing is very long. it measures 36.5" x 1.75". reversed eyes so i figured it was an aftermarket piece. what does this spring fit?

There is about a 5 inch difference between the perch centerline and the spring eye centerline, making the spring fit an axle that would have 41.5" perch centerlines.
I know of no axle that wide. I would suggest calling Posies and asking them. They have the most extensive data on axles.
How did you measure the eye centerline - straight across, or along the arch?

i measured straight across. it has an arch height of 3.5". an axle with 41.5" perch bosses sounds like a huge axle. maybe its not for a ford?

i hate posies. they want $200 for a spring that will fit a '37-'41 front axle in a spring over config using model a wishbones.

Looks identical to the rear springs on my 49 Chevy truck except they measure 44" from eye to eye. Is your 36.5" measurement from center to center of each eye?

Mine are 1.75" wide, but I just looked at them again and they don't have reversed eyes. My book shows the front springs measure 37", but no reversed eye. I know they can be made reversed to fit a truck.

Lots of leaf springs from old cars and trucks with parallel spring arrangements are in the 34" -37" range. The reversed eyes are a curiosity though.
