im looking for ideas for my 64 ford truck. pretty boring now. flat black just dont work on a 60's truck.scallops? paneled? low buck solutions, high buck solutions, what ya got?
First thing I would do is get rid of those mirrors and do something with the wheels.... When I first bought my '65 F100 it had similar Mirrors, woodgrained Camper Shell, giant assed farmer style rear bumper, and about 50 lbs of Hog Shit in the back of it.
A quickie...a little cuttin' hackin' and slashin'!!! (Just make sure ya drop a rip-snortin' FE in that thing!! )
Did these years come with a step side bed? My cousin just got a '63 Ford truck, but I think it's got a 50's bed on it... I didn't think they had stepsides this year.. I'd say a metallic orange would look pretty neat...a very bright, house of kolor kind of orange, with off white scallops crazy all over it. Perhaps invert the top, shoot the wheels orange too with trim rings?
Your 64 is pretty much the same as my 63 with the exception of the unibody part. Just don't make it look like mine TRUCK PICTURES, CLICK HERE. There are five pages worth

Sorry to post this pic again, buy it's th eonly one I have... I whupped this one together in about 5 months. Just a quickie parts hauler. GM front clip, big ass Pontiac motor..nuttin to it. Good luck on yours she looks like a good'n. -Abone.
Looks like your truck is a long bed. Just so you know, the Ford stepside longbeds are taller than the shortbed types. They look out of proportion to me. If you want a stepside, I'd shorten the wheel base & find a short stepside. Otherwise leave the long wide bed- Just my thoughts.
Two words: Push Truck. Lose the bumper and put a push bar on it. 86 the tow package mirrors. Nose it. Drop it a couple of inches all around- nothing crazy. Use a better looking flat or satin black- darker. Maybe very simple and subtle gray or white scallops. And paint the wheels any other color or find some hubcaps that fit with the 60s style. When using steel wheels, I like black because that way they don't take your eyes off the vehicle. Steelies are meant to be spartan by design. That is why the factory covers them up.
I don't have pic but a buddy of mine has a mid '60s Chevy PU. It's in grey primer and he painted the roof, grille and bumpers white. It's looks really clean. Lower it and get a decent set of wheels and ya got a cool driver.

[ QUOTE ] I can't believe knowbody posted pics of El Polacko's badass F-100 [/ QUOTE ] I can't believe it either! That truck is the baddest mid-60s F-100 I have ever seen. But it isn't fair because he has to be locked inside an air-conditioned building for 4 months out of the year so he doesn't cook. And as we all know, there is only so much porn you can watch before you get the urge to work on your truck...
In El P's post he posted his link...and, YES, it is badass! I'm sure he and 55safari will clarify, but... They don't even have A/C in that shop!
Looky what we got here? I nice practical longggbed with lots of headroom and a ground hugging stance. A sensible solution I'm sure you'll agree.
