    hey guys,

i was wondering if some one could post a picture of how there grill shell and radiator all fit into place with a stock model A front crossmember.

ive had all the parts mocked up at various times. but i havnet ever had the chance to look at a stock, or similarly set up, car.

were exactly is everything suposed to go?

    thanx:)

I have a homebuilt frame & a 32 shell on mine so I can't help you there, but I will bump this Traditional Hot Rod question back to the top for you.

    Later, Mark

Deuce frame rails, Model A cross member, grille shell has been dropped 3 inches to align with A cowl (3 inches taken out of sheet metal on sides of grille shell), deuce radiator is chopped three inches to fit under it.

do you have any pictures from like the back side of the sheel ect towards the bottom?

  5. Here's a little gizmo I made so you can set the grill shell at the height you want without a radiator.
    Makes life easy.

1" Aluminum strap, some 1/4" holes.
    1" Aluminum angle, a 3/8" hole.

The upper vertical part is bolted to the original 32 grill shell mounting hole.

Make a left and a right side.

Dave that Rpu is looking so nice every time I see it, it's way more evolved than before. I'll be down soon, maybe Sunday to drop off that Buick steering wheel, so you can bounce the idea around, and see if you might wanna use it.
    later man-

p.s. no luck on that lead for the dude who fixes s-wheels.
I won't be able to get to that corner of the storage unit till I move someday....hehe, it's BURIED.

What year is your frame? and Body? The 28-29 frame has round holes at the mount on the crossmember, the 30-31 has oval holes on the crossmember. If your body is a 28-29 and you frame a 30-31 the hood and grill shell will not line up with out some work. The boss on the 30-31 frame is 5/8" higher than that on the older frame. The only way to tell is by the holes on the crossmember, or if it still had the running board mounts, some of the older models (28-29) had cast mounts, while most 30-31 frames had stamped mounts. Hope this helps a little.

computers on the frizt thought i posted this earlyer.

i need more pix in relation of all of this to the actaul cross member. like were everything sits stock.

anexploded veiw of the front sheet metal groupe would prolly help some or a cut away?

theres dips and grooves in the cross member , but does any of it sit in grooves? over the whole thing? bolt to the out side?

this is what im trying to find out. maybe a veiw from right about the front of the intake manifold looking DOWN at the mounting and cross member in a stock set up would be helpfull?

    thanx
