Best tip you will get: don't 'rat' (read; ruin) it. lots of guys on here from my area of the world.... cool
as mentioned, that is a Studebaker, a half ton 49-53 to be more exact (absolutely no visible difference in years), either 2R5 or 2R6 model - difference is 2R5 had small 170 ci 6 flathead and 2R6 had larger 245 ci 6 flathead. good luck with it.
yeah you better go see the guy that sold it to you, i hope you didnt get a hudson truck ***le. i dont even think there was a 50 hudson truck.
I love those trucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is one sweet Stude you got there. Build it your way your style (whatever that may be). Ok practice any thing that you want to do on a junker , make your mistakes on it, then put what you learned into the Stude. Before you do anything if the ***le says "Hudson" get that sorted out first. Hope this helps and have fun Buster
Hey guys i honestly havent gotten the ***le yet hes a good buddy or mine should prolly go run the VIN first to be sure what it is... by ratt i didnt mean that in a bad way will probobly and up satin black sittin on red steelies with baby moons and fat white walls
1947 was the last year that Hudson had a production run of trucks, there were a few 3-10 that hudson made in 1948 strictly for hudson usage.
That Stude pickup has A LOT of potential, but I'm going to do you a huge favor right now and let you in on a secret. Rat rodding anything is blasphemy around these parts. The HAMB strives for quality and individuality, something a rat rod is not, nor is flat black on red steelies. If you ask Ryan nicely, he might let you change your screen name before things go from bad to worse (maybe StudeDude or something if that hasn't been taken) and if you can put up with the antagonizing remarks, you will be SO happy you stuck around to learn from the masters. I sure am. And if you can't take a joke, maybe Ol Skool Rodz is callin your name after all. Congratulations on the pickup by the way.
