According to most internet sources ... Ford made 22,148 DeLuxe 3W coupes. :) A lot of them still survive ... If only 5 per cent made it ... that's over a thousand 1932 Ford 3W's :D

I know where at least a dozen original Murray body 1932 Ford 3W DeLuxe coupes are. There are a half a dozen in South Carolina alone ... 3 within 10 mile radius on my house ( counting mine ) ...

Knowing where they are and buying them are two entirely different stories ... :(

I believe that there are over a thousand left ... easily ...

Congratulations to the new owner ... it looks like a neat old coupe ...

I've had that happen (see my Vette story in another thread) it hurts and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Some things found are meant to be left as is. This '32 is one of them.

just got off the phone with an old man that has a 32 5w and a 34 3w old hot rods
I have been cool with him for years
just struck a deal to trade the 34 for some vintage porn mags, a desert eagle 50 cal, and a bottle of old harpers
    beat that
    these cars are out there
talk to every old timer, be polite, and if your genuine this shit can happen

It's just like a time machine ....sit in it and your're in 1960 again.
Strange how things change,I reckon that before Pat Ganahl wrote that article in the December 1988 R&C " Hot Rod Suede" ,Most hot rod people were all heading down the billet covered road*. There would be no way anyone would leave a Coupe like with a flat head,it would Have to have a SBC and MM2 with a set of chromeplated alloy boyds...But Today, to change a car like that is tantamount to selling your youngest to child trafficers.

*except me of course..I couldn't afford chrome even.:D

    :(

    Price ???

It does not really matter ...
Cause you NEVER pay too much for a 1932 Ford ...
You just buy it too early ...
    :D :D

The fact is someone got a real cool coupe ... and I am glad for them ... :)
I hope he drives the wheels off it and enjoys it for many, many years.

Thats not the point..the point is,the owner( custodian) has relinquished custody of his car to someone who he knows has two important things, one is a strong desire to have custody of the car and to cherish it,and two,the wherewithall to gain custody and look after it . it's a different mindset to the everyday wheeling and dealing of second hand cars. I have seen rare cars change ownership on a $1 and a handshake because the PO knew it would go to a good home not fleabay.

Great car... can anyone identify the rear bumper?

    Thanks,
    CC

  15. exactly, it is actually sad if you think about the other end of the deal. A guy is no longer there to enjoy his bitchen ride.

And that is a bitchen ride. A barn find Hot ROD is way different than a stock car that was just stuffed away. That is a barn find.

Looks like the grille shell and headlights were just added by the new owner(?)
They don't appear in the "garage find" images. But the shell in paint matched.

98% of Hot Rods in the 50's / 60's did NOT run those big stock Ford headlights, so that one thing sort of throws me off from it being totally un-molested.

    Other than that-- KILLLLLLLLLER CAR!

I think Frank told me the shell and hood were off the car, but in the garage. He also has cycle fenders for the front that were pulled off at some point in the past.

I'll try to get Frank to join the board and he can post more info. He had done some research to try and locate/identify the original owner/builder.

He does not plan to change anything. Just get it running again.
