Does anyone know or can direct me to information on how to tune the carburetor on a model T Ford?

I have Mike (dirtracker29) T roadster at my house and putting around in it I notice it is running a little fat. I see two adjustment screws on top of the carb. Anyone know which is what and what a good initial setting would be?

    Thanks.

what carb is it? that would be the first question, is it a holley g? a zenith? some other brand?

original t's had the mixture adjustment on the dash with a rod running down to the carb and you tuned it as it ran down the road,

along with the timing advance, and the throttle rod also, no gas pedal in a model T:p
not a simple answer to a simple question, there was no static setting for a model t, i own 2 1925 cars orignal stock ,you can make it run hot ,slow, fast really lean and really rich, with all that tunign the timing at any diferent setting gives you too many varibles,

otherthan that one is the high speed the other is idle mixture ,

post a picture if you can.

That is a Stromberg OF Hi Speed accessory carburetor. I have a copy of the original installation instructions. The file is big, so send your email and I will fire it off to you.

For a start, the screw closest to the block is the low speed idle. Adjust that at idle until it runs smooth. Screwing in makes it rich. The screw closest to the float bowl is the high speed screw. You run/increase rpms to the engine to driving speed or rpms, and adjust while at that speed or rpm. Screw it in clockwise until it starts to fart out, then turn it out until it reaches its highest speed...then back in one notch or click.
