Dont know if anybodys posted this yet but it looks like a lot of potential laying around there...check out the Henry J Corsair. http://www.flickr.com/photos/forwardlookguy/page2/ I once passed up a 54 Ford race car with old timing tags and everything. Had cut wheel wells and a cal custom scoop on the hood...I wished I had gotten that one, dirt cheap too.
photofink, There are some good possibilities for someone in this junkyard. I only went as far as page 60 and saw these good projects: 1. '49 Linc - put a Merc from clip[ on it. 2. '49 Merc 4/D 3. '40 Merc Coupe 4. '57 Chevy Handyman 5. '51 Ford coupe 6. '48 Hudson 4/D 7. '50 Hudson 4/D * If the prices are right someone should get on them.......... Cruiser
Finally! This is actually close to me. I wish I had the space to fit about half of those. I noticed most of the engines were gone, does anything still have one? Anyting pre '60 and non-SBC? I think there was a couple 50's caddys. Those would be cool. Is this place open and doing business? Is he liquidating like everyone else seems to be around here? If so, I am guessing he is wanting to sell whole cars. That is still a couple hours away from here, but I have a buddy who is in LaGrange. He might be able to check things out. Waht are the prices like?????
I have no idea, I just stumbled on it while on Flickr. Someone that lives close and is interested in something there should call and let us all know
I just talked to Mack. He isn't giving the cars away. Myself and tons of other locals have been dreaming of getting into this place for years "nothing is for sale" was always the answer. "Everything tied up in court." He did give me this link to his site. mackwaugh.bizland.com Thanks for getting my hopes up about this place. Too rich for my blood.
It's a good thing they didn't bury the belvedere or it would have looked alot worse than it does now.
I keep askin, what happens when all the yards are crushed.People laugh and say it will never happen.Anyone check the price of steel lately?China.
we had a place like that here , actually two . there was an ol' boy here in springpatch right on cook st. in a very high traffic area that had gobs of old iron sitting around . well story goes he passed { and prior he wouldn't sell diddly to anyone at any price ,} and the fine folks in the city government here despite i and many others damn near begging fore access to buy some of it and put money in the city coffers , crushed every freakin' last one . i was told pretty close to 200 cars .the other was a lil' scrap yard called fuher bros. these guy's held on to any thing old and it was definetele for sale . went in there many times and if they didn't have it they could find it . no crushing , whole or parts it got sold . i dont know what happened to 'em , the brothers but another scrap yard bought it and geuss what happened to what was left in there .
