This Sunday, May 2 is the 25th annual show and shine that the Ypsi Area Street Rods put on in Riverside park. It's the usual kick off the season party for most of us in the area. There is normally a turnout of around 500-600 cars, depending on the weather. Very large park, river runs throught it, lots of grass and trees, plenty of parking. Lot of resturants and antique shops within a blocks walk of the park. There is a swap meet there as well, alittle on the small size but you never know, you can still find a treasure. Registration is 9am-1pm, $10.00, part of the proceeds go to local charities. Ray, SafarikNut is normally striping at the pavillion. You can't miss his wagon parked right there. Take Michigan Ave into downtown Yspi. Turn NORTH onto Huron Go down a couple of blocks and turn RIGHT on Cross The park on on your right If Ray pipes up that he's going we can have a HAMB meet and greet at his wagon. I'll bring the cookies Also, there is a kickoff party/cruz nite the nite before, Saturday the 1st, from 6-9pm right there in historic Depot Town.
Not sure yet, there is also the Freedom Hill Swap Meet & Car Show that Sunday on the other side of town. I might take the day off and do both, depends on the weather, if it's nice I'll be there, if it's crappy I'm staying home and working on the car.
Denise I am tentatively scheduled to be there but my brother and his wife are driving up from Florida for a visit and may get here Sunday. They are leaving Friday morning and are taking their time(supposedly)but knowing him he'll probably drive straight through(I think it is a genetic trait in our family). Will know Saturday night for sure. Are you going to the kick off party Saturday? I'm going to a British motorcycle gathering in Ann Arbor Saturday afternoon and was planning on going to Ypsi that night(I still haven't signed up yet).If Sunday is a go I'll be by the DJ booth.TTYL Ray
Thanks for the heads-up...but I HATE looking at other peoples' "done" rides while I still have a project in the garage...(and you saw what a project it is), I feel like if I have time to go look at other people's stuff, then I should be working on my own...ask Jay...someday, I'll be at Ypsi...standing around and looking at other peoples' cars....probably with a "for sale" sign in the window...oh, the dream.... Besides, it's supposed to RAIN all weekend... And if you haven't noticed, I'm the ultimate pessimist... But thanks for the info all the same....
Ray, oops, sent you a PM before I saw your post here. Yes, weather permitting I'll be at the kickoff cruz-in on Saturday nite. Of course, if it's cold and rainy on Sudnay I'll hang at home and sand on Big Olds.

Steve, Sidetrack bar is still there. In fact was planning on eating there on Sat nite. They have sidewalk cafe tables which makes it nice to watch the cars cruz as you enjoy dinner. If you ever make it back to this side of the country again you let me know, I'll meet you at the Sidetrack for a cocktail or two..... or maybe on the quad.
Sidetrack is my favorite bar on Earth, next to the Starting Gate in Northville... course HAABS has the best Fried Chicken... Ypsi is like a second home to me! If it's nice Denise, see ya there! Maybe I'll even get Kevin's depressing ass out there with me! Jay
