just flipping through some coverage of beaver springs drag way action this year.. and stumbled on this:

I've known the cars owner (Brian) since he and I were kids.

    Our Parents were good friends,
and I think that they had all traveled together to the nsra nats in 1979. (St. Paul)

I knew that he had the car, but haven't seen him, or the car for at least 10? years. (and yet for some reason, i think he may have had two t****uses?)

    anyhow,

a quick search of the hamb located these. from an event in Lancaster Dragway, Buffalo, New York.

which means I have only ever seen 2 or 3 of these? and I am wondering if they are they really that rare?

maybe some of the European Hambers still see these things running around?

    anyone else have one?

Ford Taunus, known in Canada as the 'Poor Man's Ford", cousin to the Anglia. In 1963, Volvo picked up the shape.

    that´s incorrect ! Volvo introduced the 444 in 1944.
The Taunus is a german car inspired by the 39 US-Ford Models. The Taunus was introduced in 1939 but was also built after ww2 in Germany. The end of production was 1952.

I see a quite good g***er in that Taunus model.

Taunus was a name that Ford in Germany used on most of their cars until 1982, when the Sierra (AKA Merkur XR4ti) took over, but I guess you never got many of them in the US... :p

The old "fat fendered" Taunus is nicknamed "the easter egg" here in Sweden, we also use to say that it looks like "a dog that is ****ting". :p

Yeah, though I was thinking about the fifties style Taunus that Gotgas posted. But of course an older Taunus would be nice g***er material too. :)

I also remember that we found an Easter-egg wreck somewhere when I was about 10, but that is 11 years ago now and I don't remember exactly where, I hope that it is left though. ;)

I thought someone spelled "Taurus" wrong.
Never heard of a Taunus, cute little ****ers.
Whats the black area behind the door, semaphores?

I'll just add it to my list of cars I want someday!

I always thought the **** motor company should make the Taurus.

All Saturns are made in the USA for now. They have some new little thing coming out, I am not sure what they are calling it here but it is a Opel Astra. It is being imported.
