50's olds rear end. im using a 56 but the 57 are geared better iv heard. then for my flathead 59ab im using a open drive 3speed out of 4?-53 ford pickup truck. the ford pickups had the open-drive transmissions.

Look for an early Ford Bronco nine inch rear. It should be close to the right width, and it has the lg Ford bolt pattern so you can stay with the old style rims easier. "Z" the front and rear of the fram to get the center under the body lower to the ground, if you do not want to give up space inside the car. I used a 4 inch drop axle up front with a reversed eye main spring and a 4 inch "kick up" in the rear to get mine lower. Of course there are a thousand ways to do this, these are just some sugestions to get you started.
