please tell me they are not goin on a hot rod...

they make great conversation pieces, but i only know of one hot rod that they look right/good on .. (SAVAGE your car RULES) .. they need to be very very well placed..

i would take the money and buy vintage stuff like 682's (c's or j's), cool dietz, somehting old... NO NEW PARTS! thats the moto, especially repop stuff.. it will always be ALMOST as good

the $200 repops are the cheapest available, that is unless you find originals at a garage sale. you also have to locate buckets and lenses for the repops which can be quite a bit of money if you are not inclined to fab your own.

E&J is basically out of business, so you can't buy them anyway. Those other ones require a crapload of work to finish them. Anything else that is remotely similar will go for big money too. I've been looking for alternatives for some time myself.

Saw two pair at a swapmeet last weekend..... $900 for a pair painted black with alot of nice patina, the other pair a club member bought, fully polished, wouldn't tell me how much $$$.........

I've always liked 'em.....look good IMO on the right roadster.....

Nope. I've tried everything short of sending someone over to his house to get them. And someone even offered to do that for me. :D So to hell with it.

Here's picture of the Zipper Motors lights that use motorcycle high/low Halogen bulbs. I modified that to accept the Model A light fittings and flex wire covers.

I am sure that was a harmless comment Django (I assume you weren't going to send Vincent Vega to my house to procure my Aluminum Soul from a brief case, were you?)... Truth is, there is no way I can do E&J by myself... Having a normal job, the Customer Service Part is almost impossible. I need to hook up with someone that already has a store...

Sorry, I know it sucks, but the huge influx of orders was totally unexpected, and I was not prepared to deal with it...

It would absolutely be cool to get this something less than 100% on my back (I might even be able to think about Hot Rods again without feeling ill...)

Haha, no vincent vega type stuff. Just a mutual friend.

We talked about buying some of your parts and assembling them ourselves at our shop for our customers who wanted them. But never heard anything back from you. I'm actually shocked you responded to this thread, as I have sent many many emails trying to get ahold of you.

I have a set of the repo's, the lens ring has been machined. I also have a set of repo lens. I have $300.00 invested and i would take $275.00 for it all. :D

  12. isn't i nice of the dude on ebay to not show a pic of how you actually get them. raw is a sever understatement. i saw a set at btt50's last year and thought a high school casting class could do beter

The ebay ones are freakin rough man watch out, be ready for a hell of alot of work to do on them. Isnt it nice of the guy to not explain that there is no possible way to hoold the 2 halfs together with out the tape that he uses in the pictures hahaha. Framedragger has to get back in business I dont care if he doubles his prices it would be worth it Ive seen pics of his lights and my god there better than the originals.

i believe at one point moon was making fiberglass copies, i dont know what the HL rings were made of.... only heard it through the grapevine.

framedragger - perhaps a limited run per year is the way to go, ive spoken with you on a few occassions casualy and remember you expressed the heartache associated with the business.

  16. The one's on my car are fiberglass. I bought them about 6 years ago at the Fathers day Pomona swap. They have a one piece bucket, a separate outer headlight ring, and a separate inner ring to hold the sealed beam bulb. I don't remember who made them, but they also made fiberglass Anglia/ Thames panels. Might of been a guy from Australia. I ended up taking them off. It made the car look like an alien, even though I never had a negative comment on how they looked. Also the sealed beam didn't give me much light, even with a high beam. I would run a bulb from a Jap crotch rocket motorcycle if I use them again.
