Whats up? Im planning on selling my 1938 ford pickup. flathead original 85hp, but don't really know what it is worth. I put a lot of work into it. the motor is running and refurbished, all new wiring, new spark plugs/wires, dist. caps/rotor runs great, and is all original. It doesn't have a bench seat. the front end of the truck is all done(engine compartment) but the rear and cab needs to be finished. The bed of the truck is rotted, probably needs to be replaced. I have just lost interest in the project. Can anybody help me out on how much it is probably worth, cause I have no idea?
tough to tell what condition what the trucks in since all i see is motor but my little book says something like between 800-2400 so i would suggest somewere in the middle of that 8-being ****, 24-being ok unless someone else disagee's
Whats it worth? With pics like that not much. Ya gotta take really nice well lighted pics and do***ent all the work that has been done, reciepts help alot here. Then be brutally honest with what NEEDS to be done with the project. Look at other completed vehicles and see what they actually sell for. Then look what needs to be done to your vehicle to make it complete like the ones you looked at. Put a realistic price on what it would cost to make your vehicle look like the completed one. Then subtract that amount from what the completed vehicle sold for Thats what it is worth....Now try to be truthfull with your self through this whole process and hope ya dont have to pay me to take it off your hands
This may or may not help, but I can tell you the truck is worth a LOT more if it drives. Even if you just throw it together. Put the front sheetmetal back on and drive it around. Once it's driveable, it's now "An old truck with a rebuilt engine" versus "A project." "A project" is never worth as much. That should be a minumal amount of work to bring it to that point. It looks like you've already rebuilt the brakes and the ch***is seems to have a fresh coat of paint on it. If it's a driver, someone will look at it and see all the stuff that's been done, and figure they can tackle the body. I'd make it so you can drive it to the local cruise nights, and someone there will buy it. If it drives, I'd think you could get $4000 for it pretty easily. -Brad
The truck would have been worth lots more if the bodywork had been done rather than the ch***is work. Ch***is are a dime a dozen but good bodies are hard to find. That said, bolt all the sheet metal back on the thing and get it running and driving if possible. A runner/driver, whether truly roadworthy or not, is always easier to sell than a dis***embled dead car with a pretty running engine. Make sure your ***le matches the truck!
