Screw that, I'll keep buying mine from VAPHEAD here on the hamb. He's a super cool cat with great prices and your supporting a fellow hamb'r! I've bought several of these for fellow club members as well as some 2bbl units. The quality is awesome, the price is better and shipping is fast. Now there's your commercial
Another vouch for VAPHEAD, got mine through him. Great to deal with and good quality air cleaners as well.
VAPHEAD = http://www.riley-auto.com/ ? How 'bout that? Looks like he has stuff for 2-bbl carbs (Rochester & Stromberg): And stuff for 4-bbl carbs: Nifty! Prices are great, too! And yes, I dig the skulls. Call me cheesy. ~Jason
VAPHEAD has gasket kits too, I noticed. Great price for one for a Cadillac 429, too - I should email him... Thaks for the link, y'all! ~Jason
i have bought air cleaners from both vaphead and wolk. they both have nice prouducts, and it's easy to do business whith both of them. dan
I've got tons of PMs from all kinds of folks that run the air cleaners from these guys (more on the Wolk side, and of late, of VAPHEAD), and no one had a bad thing to say about 'em - everyone seems to sing their praises. I've heard everything from how cool they are to deal with, to how approachable they are at shows. ~Jason
I've actually seen this car at a few shows... who knew it was one of these guys? Small world, man - you just never know who the guy beside you is!
I know that the Wolk ones are made by them personally in their shop, or something like that. I'm curious about VAPHEAD'S stuff. When I get the cash to order that gasket set I emailed him about today, I may spring for some other stuff, too. I mean, if it's on credit and I'll be paying for it for a million years, why not, right? But I need those Wolk Hellings-style air cleaners on my 3x2... I mean, I NEED 'em - BAD. ~Jason
BTTT for pics of VAPHEAD's stuff. Last post was too late at night, and it was buried by the morning. Sorry.
Hey,thanks for thinking about little ol' me.Sitting in my ba*****t. I have the 7 1/2 " helmet style now for the 2x4 set up. And the 4 1/2 for 97's. I listed the 2x4 style in the cl***ifieds, not yet on my site.... I only have the two fingers to type with !
Snap a couple of pics and post 'em up in this thread, man! You'll have to have the pics later for your site anyway, may as well give us a sneak peak! ~Jason
I hate to ask, but the "two fingers to type with" deal made me curious... what happened to the other 8? ~Jason
I only use two of the ten when typing. Here's a lousy picture of the 7 1/2" helmet.5 1/8" neck. (held up by a beverage that happened to be in the shop fridge) All of $78.00 each.
Sory, once again, I bumped too late at night and it got buried before anyone could see it. So here's this thread, one more time, so folks can check out VAPHEAD's latest! ~Jason
Is that turned metal, or diamondplate? Hard to tell in the pic. Either way, that's pretty cool! Homemade, I take it? ~Jason
I know this thread is old but more people should know about these guys. I just talked to them and they are very nice and very helpful. I had a question about a custom application. They were more than happy to help and came through for me.
No doubt these are awesome. I was just telling the wife about them last night. I'm still planning on getting a set for my '37. The '37 is getting ready to roll soon, so I'm already thinking about the pretty stuff. Still got other **** to get first though.
I dealt with Dave about 10 years ago. Great guy, great products, but I thought he closed up. I'll havta see if I can bring these back in stock.
Nice pieces resembling the Stellings&Hellings designs awith some more "modern" designs throigh in to fill out the line.
