Is anyone running disc brakes on a early Ford straight axle and using the early Ford bolt pattern (5"x5 1/2") with 16" steeleys or 16" Kelseys ? For some reason I can't find a good setup / combo to make this work.
Any advise or Alliance vendor information would be helpful.

    Thank you

My guess is the hole on the 40 Ford wheel is too small to fit over the rotor. If your hell bent on 40 Ford steelies than you may just use drum brakes. Otherwise get some vintique wheels. The other option is to use some space saver spare steel wheels. They look close to the 40 Ford style steel wheel and they can be found as 15x4 or 16x4 size wheels.

Thanks sodas, I've used the space saver's in the past and they work / look pretty good.

  5. Blah, blah, blah...

We bought one for Tim's '40 to run the 16" wheels and it came from ECI.
It requires the use of modified steering arms that go under the kingpin boss on the spindle... good price.

There is an article in the new Street Rodder Magazine that shows an axle swap on a '40 sedan... chck it out... I think they used a kit from Pete and Jakes... looks like a better set up than the one we used.

we used Jamco kit and had machine shop turn the nose of the rotors down to fit stock holes on 16" wheels.
