Hi, all. I'm in Tempe, Az. I've worked on my cars all my life, used to be cause I had to, (no $), and then the times when I paid a pro, went back and found things not done right.Anyway, I am now tired, (when and if I do this again, I'll be Re-tired.) Now, I'm doing it for enjoyment. Got a '65 Divco Milktruck, with a 223 inline. When I googled Ford inline 223/262 I ran across a thread on this website about improving the performance on these engines. Germ seemed to be very knowledgable, a****st others.I beleive he said he also had some performance parts, for these engines.Wanted to pick his brain, as well as others.I love going into most of these shops, and I tell them I need, for instance, spring shackle hangers and bolts. They say "what vehicle?" I say "1965 Divco Milk Truck". and watch their eyes glaze over. They can't find the part, cause there all listed by make/model year.Anyway, thats me.

Thanks, Landmine. Anyone familiar with the "Java Divcruiser" toy cars? Thats kinda what my trucks gonna look like, when I'm done.

Right now I've got the body raised up on camper jacks, and a rolling ch***is I'm working on.In the process of re-doing the suspension, and moving into the driveline.I've got the Ford inline 6, 262, I think. it has the heater plumbed to the coolant, between the carb and the intake, and the H2o pump doesn't look right for a 223. And, 1/2" head bolts. By the block # is a 63 block, although the truck is a 65. I read where putting a 240 distributor can give it a kick in the ***. According to my Divco books on the 240/300 engines, they take the same distributor, an autolite 12127-D.In searching for one, i found a Mallory Dist. thats supposed to be for the inline 300. Part # 2763101, dual point, vacuum advance.Any reason why that wouldn't work, as well? And, before I shell out the $ for it, How much work is involved in the conversion? Is it just a matter of putting my old gear on the new distributor, and how much works involved in that?i.e. are the shafts the same size, or do I have to drill out or use bushings, etc. And, is that the only modification I have to make. This is to Germ, or anyone who's had experiance with this. Thanks in advance for any responces. Jim

Well, feeling like a FNG, or a FNB for sure! Last night I stayed up all night reading thru the old threads on Fordsix.com, found the answers to all my questions, and a few I hadn't gotten to, yet.So, now I'll sit in the back, keep my mouth shut and my ears open for about six months, and try to learn somethin. What I was tole along time ago, when joinin a club. Anyway, thx, Jim
