So my wife and I decided to head up north for the weekend..

    Sat.
We started out at the Revolution and I said it before but it was a VERY cool show..I was happy to see some of my friend like Ryan, Jeff Norwell ( who snuck through the border), Jay ward, Gordon from Gordini's garage and the list goes on..But it was really nice to go to a show in Cali that was not infected with shitboxes and skanky chicks that are practically naked.

From there I got to go to my Pal Mike Lavella's house/where house witch was
really cool. Mike is the creator and head publisher of Gearhead Magazine
witch allot of people don't know was one of the first Lo-Brow mags that covered the stuff we are into along with excellent music coverage as well..
I interviewed him for MFS 5 and was amazed that we both started or "Mags"
sorta the same..there was a demand for it and we both were in the right place at the right time and did it our way...only his came out in 92..
Mike also has an amazing collection of Hot Rod art work and memorabilia..
Thank You Mike and Greta for having us...

    Sunday.
I get to meet up with another really good friend Artist Dirty Donny...
What a cool place he lives in...Donny is an amazing artist and mini bike stunt man (featured artist in MFS 5) and really has a good story to tell.
Donny has hot rods running through his veins and paints like no ones business... Thank you Donny and Oriana of being so hospitable!!!

From there me my wife and Donny and his wife headed out to Campbell
to meet up with my pal Steve Cab..We met at his house and WOW!! Steve
has an amazing collection of artwork and Steves Art is AMAZING!! not just
the stuff he post's here but some of the stuff he has done for his WONDERFUL daughter Kala(sp?)and his son Caleb....Awesome.!!And your toy collection is unreal I loved seeing the Happy Days action figure collection hahaha..And the econline is soooooooRAD!!!!
We all went out to have Sushi and we had a really good time!!!
Thank you Steve + Family for having us and Dinner...you sneaky Snake..

    Monday..
On the way home I go to stop at Mr. Gambinos shop to finally see where he
makes the magic happen...And dammit hes a talented little bastard..but we all know that...
Thanks Alex for the tour and for just being you...

This trip really sealed the deal and we are DEFINATLY moving up north within the next 2 years...I love everything about No-Cal and look forward to
    move...

Any hoo just wanted to give some props!!!

What??? you don't like the "Tough Guy" attitude here in SoCal? Every other guy dressing up/looking like like JJ or Mike Ness? Or the car shows that turn into a Photo shot for the left over models from the bus station? Rember Speed Kills zine from Chicago? I love the Bay area too, born in Vallejo.

I love Austin but a bit to far..No- Cal is 6 hours from So-Cal..
we still have all our family in So-cal so we still want to be close..trust me
we thought about it allot....but in 2 years Austin will be like So-Cal cause everyone will be moving there,,,hahahahahaa Rat Rods EVERWHERE>>>hahahaha

I saw a sticker in Austin that cracked me up it said "Austin Sucks Don't move here" not kidding either...

I really do love Austin tho....

Either way i'm going to retire in Hawaii in 10 years anyway..maybe sooner

I wish I wasn't such a shy loser. I had a great time at the show and didn't meet anybody, even though you were all there.

    Evel-

Glad to see you at the Revolution, and really glad to hear your gonna be local!
Yes we have traffic (not like the 405in LA!) high rents, but the weather here is perfect, attitudes are low, and your 20 minutes from mountains, beaches or the redwood forest-- Pretty darn cool.

I have an Asphalt Poster with your name on it sitting on my desk!!
