  1. With that air cleaner and those short valve covers... I'd be concerned about how much shit you talk! :D

Ok I'll join in the shit talking.. My panel truck will take you all. I'm bringing at least 4-5 people and with that much man power we should be able to at least get it up to 20mph.

seriously though I really plan on bringing it. Along with my friends '55 F-100. Can't wait

"It will make me a little sorry to spank your 53 after you just did all that work to it ,but someone has to ,just kidding .I suppose you will woop my Ranchero easy ,but atleast we will look cool at the line (2 straight axle cars).I would have taken you with your old motor ,based on you past E.T.'s.Good luck with it.By the way what gear are you running?See you at the drags..."

3:73 with spool. i took it to the 1/8th mile last night and it had a best of 7.81 @ 93.5 i spun about 20 ft and hit the rev limiter twice. i think if i had modern slicks and did a little tuning it woule possibly be a little quicker. those tires weigh over 50lb each with the rims.

  4. You know, I think you are confusing me with Terry Petterson who goes by Chicken on the HAMB. ;-) Yeah, that must be it. I did wear the "Chicken" helmet at Great Bend once.

I've run Chicken a bunch (10 second Yellow Cad powered T) and have gotten used to folks driving away from me. I did like the idea of whooping up on folks though.

Getting bumped up a class is actually kind of cool. An honor of sorts. Kind of like last weekend when I broke the rear u-joint and pinion yoke. I'm making enough power to break stuff? Cool!

I'd better see about taking a vacation day the following Monday cause if I stay for both days I won't be worth much on Monday.

Yeah, DW and Keith were beating up on us last year in the Gas Class. Don't think Keith (in the little nitrous coupe) is running this year.

They used to split classes in the olden days by bumping blown cars into the next class, so it's nothing new. And I think a street driven car in the Comp Class should be a badge of honor or sorts.

We're just trying to keep it as fair and fun for as many as we can. And to make sure DW doesn't win.:D

I heard a rumor that DW is going to have his shifter "problem" fixed for the DOTD. Is that legal?

Power adders bump you up one class. Therefore Grahm would compete w/ the pushrod engines in the gas class.
I don't think he can see well enough to drive though.

i know someone has somthing faster..... who all is bringing what?

  12. OK, I've got a running hot rod again so look out. I'll try not to blow anything else up. Not going to bring the slicks down. I'll have to see what tricks I can come up with to make the street tires stick.

Anybody down that way have a clean patch of shop floor they would let me throw a sleeping bag down on?

I figured you'd be scared to run me on all 8 cylinders. I didn't know you'd be able to come up with such a good excuse, though. I'm guessing it's a casino show in Oklahoma with the swing band?

I really wish ya'll could make it. Not just so I could whup ya, but for hanging out. But I'm the last one that is gonna bust anybody about work getting in the way. I missed my share of fun when I was working every Saturday. If ya'll can change it, I hope you do. If not, I'll see ya at the best little (medium?) car show in Texas!

Throw the slicks in the back. Chances are, you're going to need all of the traction you can get out there.

Yer gonna be pissed if you run 14.10 with a 2.3 60 ft time at 99.96 mph. on your radials. You'll wish you had slicks to hit 13's and get a patch.
