I was reading on here somewhere a man said that he would be making Tiki's at the Hunnert in Morris IL this comming October. I have been to a few shows ( I am still pretty new to all of this ) and I have seen a lot of the Tiki items at the vendors. Shift knobs etc ... I think they are cool but I just am not sure why they are tied into the car scene ? What is the connection ? can someone please educate me on this ??
Ok I have seen this on here before somewhere but I recall this. Servicemen were stationed in Hawaii , returned home with many turning or returning to the hot rod scene. They just incorporated that life into the post war experience they were living. I dont think thats the perfect explanation but thats the best I can recall. Hope it helps.....
