I haven't seen enough to decide my preference between the 5 or 3 rib style on 30's cars. If you've got some pics handy of full-fendered pickups or coupes with Briz or even the original 3 or 5 rib bumpers I'd like to see 'em. Not just Model A's I suppose...any early 30's will do. (I have a '31 A pickup.)

What are the "originals" from...5 rib is '37 DeSoto and the 3 rib is ?? Plymouth..or is that backwards??

Anyone have any for sale, Briz or original? Or know a SoCal distibutor? I got Briz's answering machine just now. Thanks!!

    John,
A friend of mine has some originals. I think they're both fronts. I just talked to him and he's gonna be Emailing you.

John, IMHO they've either gotta be the real ones or none at all.
I honestly can't stand Briz bumpers, I can't think of a single car that I've ever seen that looked good with them.

    Let the hate mail begin.

    Cool DrJ...thanks.

Are the originals chrome and the Briz are aluminum?

Nads: that's ok by me...opinions are like nads, every guy has a couple of them... [IMG] ...wow that was bad wasn't it?! I've never been able to compare the two side by side. What would be the difference between a freshly chromed original and a polished Briz? The back of them??

I'm not expecting a flood of pics from Hamber's just cause the fendered and bumpered traditional street rods ain't too big around here. But hopefully you guys have a couple...

John, other than both being ribbed there is little similarity in the originals and Briz bumpers. Seems either folks love'em or hate'em. I have a frind who runs them on a 50 Chevy sedan delivery an I think they look OK but he did a lot of work to get them to fit up next to the body and I still think originals would look better. My 2cents.

The Plymouth bumper is from '49.

I'm not real keen on the Briz bumpers either, but to each his own.

Well I honestly didn't realize they looked so different. Even putting the dislikes aside, I'm sort gatherin' Briz bumpers say something I don't what this car to say...

Other options I am considering are '32 Ford bumpers or nerf bars. Anyone got a pair of deuce bumpers laying around? I believe the Alexander Bros Grasshopper has '32 bumpers right?

What other stock 30's-40's Ford bumpers would be the right width on an "A" and look good? Whatcha guys got laying around? I know most of you HAMB rodders toss those bumpers in the "junk" or Ebay pile... [IMG]

Well I'm not seeing anything either. What the hell are you talking about...."Neither" what...? Neither bumper? I thought you cast your vote already?

My options are still open...you just said get the bumpers soon so you could make the subframe for the bed...so now the wheels are turning.

Maybe we should make some nerfs with me & my dad's initials "JF"....?

The one on the roadster looks like a 38 or 39 Ford bumper to me.

With the wide whites and the stance your p/u has I believe I would fab up some some bumpers like the green sedan has. Kind of give it a sixties style. Cool truck too. Love those pickups....and fenders are cool if done right.
