It's really cool to see where you started. I specially like since I work in the same way : a quick sketch on paper, and then Photoshop and it's "happy accidents" as you put it.
An "Art Tech" thread sounds really good!

  3. That's neet-o Tingy! Welcome back!!!

Bumpstick, You ever done any of that there animatin'???

Customcory we work along the sme lines (Hey, a pun?) I don'tsoppose it shows in my stuff, tho, that I tend to prefer looose quick lines. I'll tend to clean up my old stuff a bit on photoshop only by adjusting the exposure as the scanner tends to tint out too much. I'll post some raw stuff.

  7. Another great Art Friday! Kudos to everyone. Here are a couple of vintage tackle boxes I picked up last weekend. All I've done so far is lay down some outlines;not sure where I want to go with these yet.Been thinking about painting a,"PINSTRIPING BY ..."and leaving a space for the new owner to fill in his or her name along with some lettering.
One is steel and the other aluminum. The aluminum one has some small dents in the top and are a bear to get at the back of so I think I will leave them in for effect. The steel one is virtually dent-free and still has the factory cork liners in the trays. The guy I got them from supposedly has several more and is bringing them down this weekend.I can't wait.

This is the last thing I'm going to say this week.

Besides Janne and Surf Monkey - I need to also acknowledge that I was also hugely inspired by 1320Paul.

And for my next work I am looking really closely at Von Hartmann and Bumpstick.

    Truely amazing work.

Von Hart - I can feel your pain brutha - hard to imagine haw cool those sketches look in person....digi pics have big limitations. Makes me feel a little better about how mine looks to everyone.

It'll be quite a while before I get to post another piece. I have two O/T drawing requests in the batters' box. I will be doing a couple tatoo flash pieces and an Eagle for a little kid who is getting his Ealge Scout badge or whatever.

I have never made a dime off my work, I usually do it for the fun of it (aka the fix mentioned above) - so it feels like doing a rail of coke when this art community gives me praise. Thanks to everyone who patted me on the back, you have no idea what it means to hear pros like you all to tell me I have done well.

Another terrific week everyone. It would be a ridiculous list if I wanted to comment on all the good stuff I see here, so I'll spare you form that....

    Later!

I dig your style of overlaying parts on the chick, I hope you dont mind if I borrow that style for some ink I am going to get, I have a chick that I am getting on my arm and thinking an injector of some sort layed over top of her would be cool. Thanks

This is a painting i started a year and a half ago that i put away until just yesterday and finally finished it last night. It might a been because after getting my Econoline back recently, it motivated me to finish it.
