i don't think you'll have any problems finding pics of 1950 "shoeboxes" you might even find a couple of 49' and 51's if your lucky lol
Yea I did a search, but I was having to read through hundred of post and pics to find one on a 1950. Plus I was wanting to see if anyone had some new ones
1950 and 1949 are damn near identical except for the gas door, parking lights, dash trim and some other minute things...
... and the 1951s just change the dash panel itself, put chrome on the rear quarter windsplit, go to a "two-spinner" grille instead of the "single-spinner" previous, and a straight upper-lip for the grille surround. Oh yeah -- they introduce the Victoria -- Ford's answer to the Bel Air. More pics? try the Rikster at http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/ .
toledobill was right on the money... Check out Fotki... http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_...like/ford_custom_cars/49-51_ford_custom_cars/ http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_..._cars/49-51_ford_custom_cars/50s_built_49-51/
And of course the "49 has the neater dash with the heavy round chrome dash/radio knobs unlike the plastic knobs on the 50 and 51 Tex
oh yeah and 50 has a larger license plate surround piece with a revised trunk handle. '49s have a bullet w/ wings looking thing that usually breaks. Also '50s have a hood ornament, while '49s have F-O-R-D on the hood. '51s have a different hood altogether that does not have the cut-out for the bullet. Hood latch and stuff is also different. Here's some pictures of mine in various states of disrepair
The bumpers are different. Door handles are different on '49. '49 and '50 have a chrome strip below the grill. '51 ignition switch and starter switch combined. '51 was first year for automatic trans.
