Way more fun then should be allowed. I finally got tags on my coupe Saturday and got to drive it legally! Me and Stevo drove around for about 25 miles and we realized that a windshield would really be a good idea. We kept getting dust blown up from places I didn't know had dust! I still don't have anything beyond the headers, so that made the driving that much more fun. We also drove to a VERY small local show Saturday. When I say small I mean it. There were 30 cars. 28 fluff-mobiles/muscle cars and two cars in suede. Obivously I didn't win a trophy, but I really didn't go with that in mind. This event was an excuse to get the tags and get it out on the street and that I did. I did have one guy come by and say that mine was the only hot rod that he saw and that was enough of a prize for me. He even came back a couple more times to look at my coupe. I kept laughing for the four hours that I was there in the fact that people would kinda saunter by the 52 Merc wearing what Stevo was convinced were someone's b*** boat trailer rims on one side and an original looking 60 GTO Judge and then stop dead in their tracks in front of mine. Most of them even walked around my and not the others. I noticed the owner of the GTO getting a little irritated by this. That was Saturday. Today I drove it up to my favorite auto parts store so the guy who runs it could see my money pit in person. Upon leaving, I got the chance to light up my HURST Cheater Slicks, (Man, I still love saying that!) Sadly, I have no photos. But there are a couple nice black marks out front! Cody, I promise you your pix, just be patient. I also took my daughter-in-law out for a spin. She was stoked to be able to get a ride, especially when she realized that she was getting a ride BEFORE her husband; my son. I can't wait for that phone call... Hope your weekend was as much fun. Vance
GREAT news bud! I'm thrilled for you. Looking forward to seeing it in person soon.....and post some photos when you get a chance.
They had to be b*** boat trailer wheels on that merc....would that be considered unfinished because he had to use trailer wheels??? anyway the car ran good ...looks good too !
