Ryan, thanks for posting. It would be neat if you did this more often, as some of us FNGs have missed some of the Journal's cl***ic posts, like the one above.

I love it when you have sayings our thoughts like this. It reminds me of when I used to watch the Wonder Years.

    Really nice picture.

I'm not sure you could "pose" the vehicles any better for the shot. Nice eye whoever took it.

That was like, the year after I moved down here. I was bummed that I missed it. Miss that town a bit too..

Here is a rear shot of Blakmerks car. He chopped that car in a one car garage when he was 15 years old. Not bad, eh?

Even better is the fact that little pic was shot outside the now defunked "Peckerwood Club" somewhere deep in the woods on old 40.
    A perfect time and place.

I can't believe its been that long ago, as soon as it gets a little colder should we have another outing?

Does Hot Rod Paranoia = rear bushing? Do I win a prize?

Cone on Ryan we don't need the F word on your blog. We can do without that. Show a little bit of cl***. This is the first time I hve logged on and there it was on the Administrator's blog! What is up with that?

**** man... I'm sorry about that... but this isn't a children's site. Language can get pretty riske. If that's offensive, I suggest you look elsewhere.

"And then it came to me. I value my hot rod more than my own well being. Some folks might think that’s sick/twisted and I guess it really is, but there is some nobility in it. Guys like us have a p***ion for the intangible… It’s not a material thing. It’s an appreciation – an appreciation of art, creativity, mechanics, and yes – self purpose. We value the time and effort it took to enjoy those moments when the back barrels open, the bias-plies chirp, and the rear-end comes around. We get paranoid we may lose a part of ourselves if we don’t get the perks of hot rodding."

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

    Owen,

Really.......the "F" word? Nothing like hanging out and getting to know the guys here before you start giving them hell (oops).

Due to your sensitivity to cursing, please beware the next time you are at the strip and someone is thrashing to get his 392 back together for the next round, or at the dirt track after someone puts your guy into the wall, etc. (insert you favorite bar, school, bus stop, etc. here).

Please don't leave mad, just leave.

Nice picture, my pickup is the last in line. Brother(WZ) and I met in K.C. with our wives and really enjoyed that tour. We saw some neat places and enjoyed some really good BBQ at the end. I really enjoyed the vintage aircraft but "the fun was in the run" My can of goodies sits atop my workbench and I recall the trip ofter. Later in the day when we hit some straight divided road-ryan and the (#5) 32 roadster came around and squared off in front of us and started slowing down. I remember telling my wife to get ready for the show. We got one.,Thanks again Ryan.

Yep, well stated Ryan. Our own well being definitely takes a back seat sometimes. OK Plenty of times.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who suffers from hot rod paranoia. When I first got the old girl running I heard hundreds of things that convinced me the car wouldn't run for a year without a major overhaul. Five years later I continue to break stuff but none of what I was worrying about.

Thanks for putting that picture up Jeff. That was to much fun!

I like the story, that's the way I get with my roadster on a rough road, If you would just hear the noises that I make you would think I was in some kind of pain. Having just finished it not so long ago and doing all the work myself, I hate to hear it getting beat apart. Although it's no worse for ware. Guess it's all in my head, put the pedal down, you can't hear the noise with Henry's song playing through the open pipes!
